This thread makes me depressed.

My Internet is abysmal, topping out at 6mb/s. It's all I can get in this area, although if I drive just a few minutes cable is available and much better speeds through it. I'm looking to move because of it.

To clarify... The primary differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies are range and bandwidth. 5GHz provides faster data rates at a shorter distance, whereas 2.4GHz offers coverage for farther distances, but may perform at slower speeds.

I think I need range extenders. My cable company, COX, does have their propietary brand called "Panoramic Wi-Fi." I'll try to convince Dad to stop by the Cox store in Chandler next weekend.

I use a small ISP out here and get 400 MBPS download for around $52 a month. I could step up to gigabit but its around $65 a month, don't really need more speed.

House is completely wired so I have Ethernet everywhere, god bless the previous owner for putting a switch in the attic and dragging wire throughout the house. :D

25mpbs. lol. but I only pay $29 a month so I'm 100% happy. did a few speed tests and I'm around 28-30. no complaints.

Finally have decent internet, and I think it's pretty good for only paying 40$ a month?
