Cliff Ronning:
1985-1986 Team Canada International 71 55 63 118 53

Jason Woolley:
1991-1992 Team Canada International 60 14 30 44 36

Paul Kariya:
1993-1994 Team Canada International 31 10 38 48 4

Look at those examples. Who the heck did they play against for 60+ games?

I have always wondered this. I'm kind of embarrassed but I don't know the answer and have never gone out of my way to find out. Eric Lindros and Jamie Heward are two other examples I can think of who spent considerable time with the National team.

I think these games are officially considered international competition. Raimo Helminen is known as the player with the most international games played, and surely that has something to do with his 10-20 national team games every year from 1983-1998.

More info on this would be much appreciated.

In 1991-92 they played:
38 games against other national teams
13 against european club teams
8 against NHL teams (all of them Canadian)
3 against IHL/AHL teams
2 against NCAA teams
before the 1992 olympics in France.
