I was interested in seeing the breakdown of each player for goals, assists, points, and +/- . The numbers were surprising. Cassidy REALLY needs to shake up lines 2 and 3 tonight. The Riley Nash line has been HORRENDOUS. I wouldn't even mind seeing Donato AND Gionta in the lineup. Heinen and Riley Nash have pulled a dissapearing act. See below:

Marchand: 2G/5A/7P/+2
Bergeron: 0G/5A/5P/+3
Pastrnak: 4G/7A/11P/+3
Line 1: 6G/17A/23P/+8

Debrusk: 2G/2A/4P/-1
Krejci: 2G/2A/4P/-1
Nash: 1G/0A/1P/-1
Line 2: 5G/4A/9P/-3

Heinen: 0G/0A/0P/-1
Nash: 0G/0A/0P/-1
Backes: 2G/0A/2P/-2
Line 3: 2G/0A/2P/-4

Schaller: 0G/2A/2P/+4
Kuraly: 2G/2A/4P/+5
Acciari: 1G/1A/2P/+3
Line 4: 3G/5A/8P/+12

hope he isn't getting Clode syndrome and won't make any line adjustments.

I don't take Cassidy as the type

Changed the D pairs after one goal against last game in Toronto, put out 4 forwards at the end of last game, put McQuaid with Chara and Mcavoy with Krug last game, etc.

i hope your right. Seems like he is willing to mix up when needed but i wouldn't mind seeing a major change of the 3rd and 2nd lines tonight from the start. Krejci has been invisible even with his 5 points or so. he has given up so many bad turnovers that I would like to see his line changed up to start the game. even if its only for a period or so might be a wakeup call he needs.

Who is the third line going up against? Are they drawing the Plekanec line, Bozak? I can't recall. That might factor in somewhat.

Riley Nash has been invisible since coming back, but I hope the rust and the injury will shake off and he'll get better. Backes has been visible on the PP and is the most physically engaged of the three. Heinen has just been bad. I don't think this is a good matchup for him. Wingels replacing him for now is fine with me, he could get back there against Tampa and have himself a much better series.

I really don’t get the massive hate the 2nd line has been getting they have 1 less goal than the top line this series

Maybe the eye test they have had some down moments but the numbers are there

Was looking at Bergeron, Marchand and Krejci and their pts/playoff game aren't really overly impressive.

Krejci . .80ppg
Bergeron .71ppg
Marchand .65ppg

Krejci regular season is .74ppg

It’s incredibly rare that a player has a better .ppg in playoffs than regular season

Bergeron regular season is .76ppg

Marchand .76ppg

is the only one with a big dip of the 3

marchand/pastrnak play perfectly ok with riley nash... put them together and we have 1 line that works

allowing Bergeron to try to get a second line that works... give him nash and put donato into the lineup... with Bergeron/nash handling the heavy lifting defense we can afford donato in the lineup and we get that extra offense we need

krejci/debrusk have been doing ok and if they drop to third line they get better matchups. I think I might put heinen with them and hope he responds with a better showing.

and that allows backes to join the fourth line. I'm not sure who I sit between schaller and accairi. but I do keep backes in the lineup. as a 4th liner he would be awesome

for me the 2 big moves are try to use Bergeron to get a second line going since hes not needed with marchand/pastrnak... and get donato into the lineup so we can get another goal and put Toronto on its heels.

Well we do have a kid who scored at a 35 goal pace in his 12 games this year, sitting in the Press Box. Just imagine if we lose this series without putting him in outside of the one game which we won 7 to 3 by the way and he goes on to get 30 goals next year and win Rookie of the Year. People are going to think Cassidy is crazy.
