Here is the roster of the "banned" United States squad, represented by the Amateur Hockey Association (A.H.A.) that did not get to play in the 1948 Olympic Winter Games:

The 1969 American squad was mainly made up of players from the United States Hockey League (USHL) in the Midwest (mostly from the Green Bay Bobcats and Rochester Mustangs teams). The U.S. team only played 2 games together before the start of the World Championships, losing overwhelmingly 11-0 (2:0, 3:0, 6:0) to the Czechoslovakian national team on March 11 in Prague.

The team had a player-coach, 35-year-old John Mayasich of Eveleth, Minnesota and the team manager was Wayne Dornack of Rochester (Minn.) Mustangs (USHL).

Mike Curran, 24-years-old Univ. of North Dakota graduate, played for Green Bay (Wisc.) Bobcats (USHL).
John Lothrop, played for Rochester (Minn.) Mustangs (USHL).

Jukka, sorry for my mistake. Please reverse the rosters of the 1948 U.S. Olympic squads. The first roster, listed as "banned", was actually the roster used in the 1948 games. The second listed roster was the one that was sent home.

All right, I'll start making the international presentations very soon! But I'd like to have a bit more information about goalscoring of the following old-time medal winning teams:

1924: Great Britain.
1934: USA.
1935: Great Britain.
1938: Canada and Great Britain.
1949: Canada and USA.
1953: Germany and Switzerland.

I am waiting information about these tournaments from Switzerland and I know information this old takes it time. But it is easier, when you have a lot of statistics to compare!

By any chance, do you have the player statistics (games played, goals, assists and penalty minutes) for Finland at the 1951 World Championships in Paris?

If you do have them, would you please post them here? Also, do you have the player stats for Veli-Pekka Ketola and Matti Keinonen at the 1973 World Championships in Moscow? I have found different stats for Ketola (one has him with 3 goals and 2 assists, the other with 2 goals and 2 assists in 10 gp, 12 pim), and Keinonen (one has him with 1 goal and 0 assists, the other with 2 goals and 0 assists in 10 gp, ??pim).

I noticed that defenceman Pentti Isotalo does not appear on your stats but his name is listed on the 1951 roster. Do you know if Isotalo played in any of the 1951 WC games?

I cannot find the player stats for Seppo Lindstrom at the 1970 WC in Sweden.

Also I am missing player stats from the 1971 WC at Switzerland for Seppo Repo and
Jorma Vehmanen.

I cannot find the player stats for Matti Keinonen at the 1972 WC in Czechoslovakia.

Any help you can provide is appreciated. If I can be of assistance to you for information that you need, please let me know. Jukka, do you have player stats for other countries (such as Poland, Switzerland, East Germany) that have played at past World Championships during the 1960's and 1970's?

Unfortunately, same is true for me, I have very limited statistics from before 1960.
I only have access to six historical newspaper archives in North America, and the coverage of World Championships is almost entirely Canadian-related, except for the NY Times and Washington Post.

As for the 1966 WC in Llubljana, that is one of the tournaments I do not have much stats on Team USA. I am missing 5 of the 7 USA boxscores. I can only account for 15 of the 18 American goals. Here is what I know:

In first game, CAN 7:2 USA (USA goals by Emery Ruelle (unassisted) and Larry Stordahl (unassisted).

In second game, USSR 11:0 USA (no goals).

In third game, SWE 6:1 USA (USA goal by ????).

In fourth game, CZE 7:4 USA (USA goals by Emery Ruelle, Len Lilyholm, Dick Roberge, and ?????).

In fifth game, FIN 4:1 USA (USA goal by ????).

In sixth game, USA 4:0 East Germany (USA goals by Ron Naslund (2 goals), Len Lilyholm (1 goal, 1 assist), Lyle Porter (1 goal), Emery Ruelle (1 assist) and Marshall Tschida (1 assist).

In seventh game, USA 6:4 POL (USA goals by Jim Stordahl (1 goal, 1 assist), Ken Johannson (1 goal), Lyle Porter (1 goal, 1 assist), Ron Naslund (1 goal), Emery Ruelle (1 goal), Len Lilyholm (1 goal, 1 assist).

Sorry for the lack of numbers. Perhaps someone else may be able to help fill in the missing blanks.

Unfortunately as I mentioned earlier, I mostly have incomplete stats from before 1960. As for the 1955 WC at Germany, I only have 6 of the 8 USA boxscores. I am missing the USA-West Germany and USA-Switzerland boxscores (plus I can only find 6 of the 7 American goal scorers in that US-Swiss game). Thus, I can only account for 32 of the 33 American goals, I am missing that one goal.

As a result, this is what I have stats-wise on the 1955 USA team, but please keep in mind it is incomplete:

I noticed that you also have been looking for stats from the 1953 WC at Zurich/Basle, Switzerland. For some reason, this is the most difficult tournament for me to find information about. I am missing Switzerland and West Germany's stats as well. I do have Czechoslovakia's goal scorers in the 4 games they participated in. But do you perhaps have Sweden's stats for the 1953 WC? I am missing Sweden's stats. Jukka, may I also ask if you have the player stats from the 1965 WC for Finland's Ilkka Mesikammen, Matti Keinonen and Seppo Nikkila?
