Yeah, don't know what good will a year more in the juniors do for him. He's basically maxed out there.

I see him as a comparable for the Blues' Robert Thomas, who also like Tomasino tore up the OHL in his draft +1 year and then joined the Blues.

Difference between them though is Thomas (like Barrett Hayton) is a high end two-way guy so playing bottom 6 minutes and having a defensive role makes sense for Thomas/Hayton. Tomasino isn't that guy. He is an elite offensive player already but his defensive game is not close to an NHL level at this time. He'd need to be top 6 and PP time if he's going to be effective and that's probably not going to happen at 19.

Tomasino also never got the experience of playing World Juniors, which he could benefit from I think. He wasn't even invited to the tryout camp last year

And now for the All BS Awards (Iowa had 3 First Teams, Milwaukee ZERO. Second Team Milwaukee had Ingram and Iowa had a 4th player)

Belleville and Utica had 2 each.

Connor Ingram was on the second team with (33gp, 21-5-5, 1.92gaa, .933sv%, 2so).

Kaapo Kahkonen, Iowa Wild (34gp, 25-6-3, 2.07gaa, .927sv%, 7so) KK had a few more wins & SOs, but was behind 0.15 GAA and .006 sv%

Elliotte Freedman hinted on the TIM and Sid show that there maybe 28 player rosters. That might make training camp a knife fight.

Forsberg - Duchene - Granlund
Jarnkrok/Turris - Johansen - Arvidsson
Grimaldi - Bonino - Smith
Jarnkrok/Turris - Sissons - Watson
Tolvanen - Blackwell - Trenin

Josi - Ellis
Ekholm - Fabbro
Tinordi - Holzer
Hamhuis - Weber

Rinne
Saros
Ingram

... that's 26... 2 spots up for grabs? Pitlick and Carrier? Carr or Harpur? Gaudreau or Santini? If they have a 3 week camp, that's a relatively long time to battle for spots.

It's unclear but there are rumblings of unlimited goalies and the 28 will be skaters.

Probably 18 F and 10 D.

You can only have 6 Dmen playing so that gives you 4 extra, where as you have double the number of forward spots to cover.

I'm wondering how many AHL vets are going to kill for the extra spots?; Carr, Donovan, Harpur, Santini, Gaudreau, McCarron,

Training camps might be as good as the playoffs.

What do you think the odds are that Tomasino would get one of the 28 skater spots? Odds of needing all 28 are low and could serve as a great experience for a top prospect to be training/practicing with an NHL team during a playoff run

I think that's unlikely. He seems to be developing super well so far, but the Preds have never been a team to put prospects into the NHL quickly.

Rest easy, 303, and thank you.

If we can have 28 skaters we will add Tolvanen, Pitlick, Carr, Gadreau(and if Trenin and Blackwell werent already on the roster they will be also)

Allard, Carrier, Santini and possibly Davies will be added to the D corps(Counting Tonordi and Harpur as already on it)

(I have forgotten which of the above we already had on the roster )
