Drafts are always a big crap-shoot. Jets have done wonderfully. Look at these 11 boards - only one had Aho as a first round pick (Pronman at 28th)
Buttons rankings are actually the worst of all of them

In chevy we trust. Yeah. He should have traded 2 years ago to get 2 defenceman at at the very least 1. Better late then never. Now is planning to play with comrie as the back up. Not smart at all. He should have kept Appleton let copp go saving the money to pay brossoit. The choice was brossoit or copp and it was an easy choice. Such a huge gamble for no reason. Could have got a 3rd line player for 2.5 and brossoit for what he is going to pay copp and comrie. And slept alot better knowing if Hellebuyck got hurt he a proven nhl backup.

Chevy has had a great off-season. Last couple have been meh, but this year he's vastly improved the Defense (at a high cost - but it what it is), the draft analysts seem to love WPGs draft (admittedly i haven't followed much with this class), but there's still work to be done.... let's see what Pionk and Copp come in at and i think this team still needs an additional middle-6 Fwd. Don't think either Harkins or Vesalainen are viable options for that role. But, Comrie as the back-up.....guess Helle is starting 70+ games . Also the tried and trued "vet" signing of R.Nash is superior than the usual dregs he signs (ie: Hendricks, letestu, thompson).

Not endorsing the article, the Jets’ placement or Don’s weird, persistently Jets-hating model, but the Jets rank near the bottom of the league in contract efficiency, according to this Athletic piece, with Nik E coming out best. Anyway, have at ‘er:

By the numbers: Grading every NHL team’s contract efficiency, 2021 edition

The Josh Morrissey deal is tough. Analytically, he’s been awful ever since Jacob Trouba was shipped out and while we can account for his tough situation, maybe it’s not giving him enough credit. That’s the biggest cap mishap on the books and is one of the league’s worst contracts. It’s the main reason the Jets land so low, but there’s also the Blake Wheeler deal which has aged terribly (he was awful defensively last year), and the Adam Lowry deal which is way too much for a bottom six center. A mediocre one at that. The team also traded for Nate Schmidt who doesn’t have the best contract which is why Vancouver traded him away in the first place.

Nikolaj Ehlers, Winnipeg’s best forward, is on an incredible deal that’s underpaying him nearly $3 million per year, but the team’s other two stars, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, are pretty fairly compensated. One big bargain, and a fair bit of junk.

Adam Lowry's contract way to high? Article loses cred instantly

HA what a hot take and this is why I would never pay to read the athletic. Mark Scheifele's contract is a beauty and truly one of the best out there based on performance IMO.

How does he still say Scheif is fair $$? He’s close to Hyman dollars...

And yeah Vancouver was trading Schmidt because of his horrible contract that they knew about when they signed him...

I take Dom and his models with a grain of salt.

I'm satisfied with both so far. They aren't top pairing d men, but they fill roles on opposite ends of the spectrum, both badly needed.
Problem is Schmidt is getting paid as much as a top pairing guy. Isn’t he earning more than Morissey?
