Kovy could be an interesting JVR replacement on a short term contract.

If he put up comparable numbers in comparable ice deployment he would be able to sign a big contract bump, similar to Radulov.

Having Matthews, Nylander, Marner or Kadri on the ice with him at all times could be inviting.

If he were thinking like that, I think having Seguin, Benn, Radulov, Klingberg, Heiskanen (maybe bounce back Spezza) would be more inviting to play with. Most of them have at least scored 70p in a season

Edmonton
Benn - Seguin - Nichuskin
Kovalchuk - Faksa - Radulov
Spezza
Hanzal (for 40ish games)

Would be fun to watch that's for sure

Spread the wealth.

Rangers wish to spread wealth with a soft cap with a luxury tax for going over but the league wants to keep a hard cap. Is that what you meant??

If I'm Ovie and Kuznetsov....I try to sell Kovy HARD on signing a 1 year deal that fits under the cap. If he truly wants to win a cup, he will do it. Their offense would be insane if they could do it.
If he truly wants to win a cup, sign in Washington? What are we trying to suggest thing no one else would ever say?

Almost no chance he goes to the west, unless it's LA.

Almost guaranteed to sign on east coast.

Toronto should pursue him aggressively.

Bruins cap situation means they have a lot of money this year and then McAvoy, Carlo, Donato, and more need new contracts. A one year deal to play with Marchand and Bergeron to boost his value for a multiyear deal?

I'd glady welcome Kovy to LA; though he doesn't strike me as the kinda guy to take a pay-cut.

Maybe Voynov can help convince him.

I dont think he's going to sign with a Canadian Team.

I think its either a NY area team or a Cali team
