Doesn't seem like a difficult formula. Just need a HUGE donation for a rink, a la Penn State.

It does seem like a crime that Illinois has zero D-I programs.

Jimmy John or Shahid Khan or someone else needs to donate a hundred million to build an arena and fund a men's and women's team for a few years. "All" that it takes.

Hope this works out; I can definitely see this being a successful program. Cool to see the NHL working on this, and specifically the Blackhawks becoming the local patron. If the NHL sees fit to continue funding studies and offering support, I'd like to see the Penguins work with the University of Pittsburgh (which has already been rumoured to be the case).

Jimmy John is probably busy planning his next safari to be able to assist the new UI/C-U/whatever Ice Arena.

I hope even if they build a new ice arena that they keep the current one as I skated there as a kid and loved the atmosphere.
