Here's finnish ratings for games of Finland. (Finland has roughly about 5,4 million ppl overall)

Finland-Czech Rebublic 1 122 000
Finland-Slovakia 1 032 000
Finland-Latvia 972 000
Finland-Germany 815 000
Finland-Denmark 777 000

results for both Russia games and Norway-game comes tomorrow.

2010:

Finland-Russia 1 206 000
Finland-Germany 1 112 000
Finland-USA 1 044 000
Finland-Denmark 987 000
Finland-Belarus 921 000

hmm its' possible that 2 000 000 breaks tonight, but only at peak, average ratings probably goes > 1 500 000

e. hmm final game against Canada 2007 got 1 469 000 viewers, but i think opponent and Granlund will give tonight more of them.

Well, according to the press, Germany's win against Slovakia was watched
by 1.800.000 viewers which is a big number for hockey here.

(Eurovision got 13.830.000 :D)

Turns out i was wrong, yesterdays final game got 2 100 000 viewers :handclap: peak was at 2 600 000 so about half of finnish population watched game. Also probably thousands of ppl watched the game on bars etc. :yo:

1.65 million swedish viewers on average watched the game yesterday, with the peak at 2.2 million viewers.

The bronze game was watched by 425.000, while Sweden - Czech Republic drew 800.000 viewers and Finland - Russia drew 431.000 viewers.

Note that not everyone in Sweden has TV3, even though the vast majority does. I've seen ratings of Sweden's earlier games ranging from 600k - 1 million roughly.

EDIT: Speaking of Eurovision; that had 3 million swedish viewers. :D

That's quite a number compared to our population and compared to the 1 895 940 (year 2010) registered TVs in Finland ;)

Hahaha in your face YLE. I'll regret saying this next year when MTV3 starts broadcasting the tournament. :(

The number would have been even bigger, if the game had been so late (9:30PM). Elders and infants were already asleep...

Allmost everyone was watching in a friend group, or in a family group or in a bar...... We can assume that something like 90% of our population was watching, if not more. And some of those those who didint, were at work and probably werre listening..

Which can be compared to 1.8 million viewers in the final in 2006 against the Czech's. But those numbers are from the 3rd period så I guess that goes as the peak.

The hockey final from the olympics 2006 peaked at 3.5 million (out of 8.7 million)

Anyone who knows what the TV-ratings in Finland were for the olympic final in 2006?

But it's not per tv. ;) Panopticon probably meant that (tv licenses) though: http://www.ficora.fi/index/viestintavirasto/uutiset/2011/P_43.html

Couldn't find a recent figure for the amount of tv households, but I'm quite sure last time I saw it somewhere (finnpanel.fi) it was a bit over 2 million.

http://www.tv-maksu.fi/en/index/tietoa/tilastot.html

Registered television notifications. It's per household. I don't know how it works in bars etc.

You can see by those stats that the numbers are declining, although I'm pretty sure people aren't getting rid of their TVs... at least not in those numbers ;)

EDIT: I see from your link that they have actually gone up this year. Odd, considering the steady decline shown by the stats in my link. Wonder why?
