This will be a great opportunity to watch some of the prospects for this upcoming draft.

Very excited to see Boqvist again. Gonna also be keeping a close eye on both of those Russians. A good tournament for Lundqvist could possibly put him top 20. Could see him being a late riser.

Love to see how Merkely does in this one. His draft round hinges on this a lot.
Same goes for a couple of Canadian centers.
Both Dellandrea and McBain are going to have to have a great tournament in order to ensure they are 1st round picks, though not as much as Merkely.
What's with the lack of 1st round Canuck wingers on the team?

I hope Dellandrea and McBain play just well enough to still be there for those two early second rounders.

Sweden has a bunch of interesting names for day 2 of the draft, will be cool to compare them to each other.

Lundqvist, Johansson, Andersson, Ginning
Gustafsson, Berggren, Bäck, Westfält, Lilja

Kravtsov is born late -99 so pretty sure he won't be there ;)

Will keep an eye on them. I want to see what Westfalt and Lundkvist look like.

Good catch, will edit that.

Not sure if Russia has a final roster yet but really like the Yugra duo Marchenko & Morozov as well as Zhuravlyov on defense. Iskhakov has high end skill but is tiny so if he can show that his size isn't a problem that could help his draft stock a lot.

Was hoping that Marchenko's subpar season might keep him out of the U18s but looks like he could even be in their top-6. He could be a big riser, nice combo of skill and size.

Saw an ad that the US-Canada game will be televised on NHLN at 10:30 on Thursday, not sure if they intend to show any other games though.

Rasmus Kupari's partcipation to U18 WJC's is wide open. His team Oulun Karpat made sm liiga finals.
Which means he'll miss at least preliminary round games and maybe even entire tournament.

I don't buy for a second that Merkely isn't going in the first round. There are just teams that have flat out taken him off their draft board, but somebody will like him like DeAngelo enough that he will go in the first round. As I have said before I don't mind picking him with our second first round pick if he is there. He is absolutely a top 10 talent in my opinion skill wise in this draft.

Whether it’s a wrister or one timer, Wahlstrom has an elite shot. Also Jack Hughes is a beauty, that kid is just special.

2 lesser known guys I thought had good games for Canada are Cam Hillis and Liam Foudy.

And damn this Lafreniere kid looks pretty good for being a 16 year old against older kids.

I am a big fan of Foudy. Fantastic skater, I was hoping we would use a second rounder on him. Think he will be a big riser though, not surprised to hear he caught your eye. I have noticed him a lot when watching Bouchard.

Marchenko looks like Malkin light. Smith didn't impress me ,even though he is number 1 Canadian defansman.

Canada has a bunch of guys I'm hoping for at the second first rounder or the 2nd round picks. Groulx, McIsaac and Dellandrea are guys to keep an eye on

Sweden vs Canada tomorrow on NHLN at 10:30 AM EST.

Good game to watch for us. You have Boqvist for Sweden, plus a bunch of good players on Canada who will be options with the Vegas pick and rounds 2/3.

USA with a 9-0 win. Probably a good game for their defenseman to get some confidence back. K'Andre Miller had a nice goal. Farabee is a really good player, but probably goes between our two 1st's.

Hughes and Wahlstrom continue to be great together:
