Started again today. Saved 27 of 30 shots, won 4-3 in a shootout, stopped all the shootout shots. Also created a goal for his team with a breakout pass, didn't get an assist, but it was the best part of the goal.

Not a good performance though, this guy needs to be held to a high standard. Giving up 3 goals isn't good for him.

No, he had a 1.64 last year. 3 goals is nearly 1.5 more than his GAA.

Pretty unfair way to look at it considering you're comparing an average over an entire year to one game.

In fact, he's GAA this year is lower than it was last year!

That said yeah giving up 3 goals is often a recipe for losing so he or his team need to not do that too often

Justjoking needs to pick up his scoring though, cannot rely on his teammates to always put the puck in the net. Its good that he is getting assists, but...

Koskinen played poorly today. 19 of 22 shots stopped, game had to go to a shootout. They put Shestyorkin in for that, and he won the shootout for them.

Shesty made 20 saves and SKA won 3-1.

Yeah, I watched some of the match today, thought he did well. The goal he gave up wasn't really his fault. A forward took up rent in front, was first to a loose puck and made a nice hands play to put it in.

He's now 7-0 in 2017-18 games for SKA and Russia. Igor is a winner, always has high SV%'s. I don't think fans need to worry about how his game will translate to the NHL from the big ice, some players you don't have to worry about that with because they've been really good their whole career.

Scouts don't simply look at how many goals were given up. The wouldn't ignore rebound control, the quality of the shots, passing, mobility, the quality of the opponent, etc.

A scout would be fired for complete incompetence if their assessment boiled down to the # of goals scored with zero context whatsoever.

He absolutely might be guilty of not being good enough in this game but your assessment of whether or not that's true is really bad

I outlined it pretty clearly. 27 of 30 shots, and you can add to it a few shots he should save, so yes, a bad performance for someone that usually plays much better. If you don't know the context, you shouldn't assume it, instead you should ask. You didn't do that.

Igor is 40-5 the last two seasons playing for SKA and Russia. One of the games for Russia I can't find the amount of shots he faced, but besides that match, he has a .939 SV% since the beginning of the 2016-17 season.

He should get the start tomorrow in the Buchnevich derby.

Our boy putting on a clinic, SKA leading Magnitka 3-2 in the third, even though Magnitka has been the better team. Igor's only been beaten by two Mozyakin shots. He's done extremely well, he's probably gonna end this game with saves in the 40 range. And Koskinen isn't the back up today for some strange reason, so this is a good time to be on his game because he could be getting some extra work coming up.

He has a cold. The next game is supposed to be game 2 for Shestyorkin in their 2 game rotation, so unless he has the cold again for the game after that one, he should be back to playing then.
