Ummm... I think its a little early to be able to rewrite the draft since none of the prospects (besides maybe Staal, Kessel, and Backstrom) have had the chance to really prove themselves capable of playing at a top level league. Thats not to say some prospects haven't been impressive, but just being on a hot streak doesn't say much (especially since so many players can dominate juniors and then fizzle out once they hit the AHL or NHL).

Also, can you really drop Brassard 6 spots just because of an injury? That seems kind of unjust.

Bernier is having a great season so far, and yet everyone has him dropping down in the draft. Makes you wonder what a kid has to do to get a little praise. I guess he doesn't play for your teams :dunno:

I like how one guy has the balls to actually post his opinion and everyone that doesn't just blasts him.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing.

I didn't think his list was all that bad actually...biggest question was dropping Tlusty so far...then i noticed he was from Quebec ;)

jiri tlusty should drop only because he's been out 6 weeks with an injury.

the guy forced the leafs to send him to the ahl at the age of 18... he actually almost made a run at a roster spot with the maple leafs.

nikolai kulemin should be a top 25 pick.

Agreed maybe its because hes on a usa CHL team. So some people might here stuff from him from the great white north. He's having a great year i kno he has had a trouble since WJC camp the last two games he had played w/ the flu where he let in 6 goals sunday and three thoses werent his fault because Baie Comeau had like 3 powerplays in the 1st and 2 were 5 on 3. Yesterday he let in 4 but he was puking between period and they sat him down in the third.

What about almost a goal-a-game in the WHL? Not good at all? What about still being a favourite to win the goalscoring title in the league, albeit missing 13 games, and playing the first half of the season with a bad hip? Still not good at all?
He's not fave to win the scoring title

I remember everyone calling last year a weak draft. Looking at some of these lists, again a few months later, I have to disagree. The top guys like Johnson, Staal, Toews, Backstrom, Kessel, Okposo, Mueller, and Little are all having tremendous seasons. A lot of the middle of the first round guys are looking really good, too. Guys like Iriving, Berglund, and Tlusty.

Why is Backstrom ahead of Staal? I know Backstrom has a lot of points in the SEL but Staal is putting up good numbers with limited ice time and virtually no PP time in the NHL. Surely that counts for something? Staal is also almost a whole year younger than Backstrom.

I do not see why Staal is not number one on this list. He is in NHL and playing very well and I do not even like Pittsburgh.
I know EJ played well toward the end in WJC but WJC is one thing and NHL is a little different..

How is Nicklas Backstrom or Jonathan Toews ranked ahead of Staal is also a little confusing.

Seriously. There may not be a Crosby in this crop, but at least a dozen forwards with "top line" written all over them.

Tlusty is now underrated. Most people havent seen him play and those who have say that he was ready to compete in the AHL. He's been out because of an ankle injury, but for a player who just came to NA, he is adjusting fairly well to the NA style game.

I will not touch the top 15 of the draft.

Some interesting trends in only 7 mths post-draft...

Who would u guys most like to get (realistically)if you held the 7th & 11th positions in the draft, regardless of position...?

Appreciate thoughts & opinions...

Cheers
