I think if they were to redo it. It would definately be Staal/Phanuef 1 2, depending on whether the first team needed D or Forwards more.

Did you forget Perry or would you actually pick *all* those guys over him?

I think its a bit too soon; although I think San Jose would rather have Phaneuf than Michalek. Bernier would slide down two or three spots. Hennessey would probably fall a few spots mostly due to others playing well. However, I think Matt Carle would definitely jump a few spots, perhaps to the late first round or early second. Pavelski might go as early as the third, and O'Hanley would probably jump a few rounds as well. It really is too early to tell these players have a lot of time to improve or fail.

Averaged over an 82 game season, Horton is on pace for 52 goals but he is behind Zherdev? I gotta disagree there.

Phaneuf and Seabrook would be the two biggest jumps as many have already shown.

Have you forgotten Bergeron or you'd take all those guys ahead of him?

I think Patrick Eaves is a little underrated in this forum. If the draft was to be re-done, he'd go a tiny bit higher. His number were VERY impressive in college and they continue to be impressive in the AHL (even the NHL during his short callups, for that matter)

sometimes people don't list bergeron b/c he was a 2nd rounder, and a lot of these threads are about re-doing a 1st round. although i see that this guy just forgot him :biglaugh:

I am still fuming that the Rangers took Jessiman at 12. The organization seems to do terrible in the first few rounds, but then is able to find those late round gems. I still can't believe that in 1999 they have two picks in the top 10 and came away with Jamie Lundmark and Pavel Brendl.

Late round finds:
Kim Johnsson (11th, 286 overall)
Hernik Lundquist (7th, 205 overall)
Petr Prucha (8th, 240 overall)
Nigel Dawes (5th, 149th overall)

I love how 2 months in the NHL being played in the wrong situations pushes Parise out of the first round behind players who haven't even sniffed the big times.

You have Burns ridiculously high. And no Perry or Parise?

Perry will score more points in the NHL than Stewart, Bernier, Nilsson, Burns...just to name a few.

points aren't everything...

parise and perry will both be solid... no denying that... being a 2nd rounder isn't bad.

secondly, i'd love for you to find me a player who has grown playing wing and moved to become a SOLID dman. Burns is incredible...

He is a very nice player and will either be a good #3 d-man or a solid borderline second liner...but you have him 11th overall in a very deep draft???

I guess I just like what he brings... I think he'll develop very nicely.
