If Tampa and the Caps lose their series...

I don't think the Tampa Bay series will be seen as a choke job because it shouldn't have been 3-0 or 3-1 at all. Habs severely outplayed them but couldn't find the back of the net.

Couple that with hitting 15 posts...

I mean..

I'm sure the Habs will lose the series but it shouldn't have gotten to where it is now the way it did.

The better team is making a comeback.

The same team that swept the Lightning last year.

"Better team"? Maybe, if you're talking about advanced stats. But in the most important stat Tampa was the team that got it done. Yeah, Montreal played much better than the 0-3 start indicated, but whether it was bad luck or bad finish, the end result was a three-game hole that's near impossible to dig out of. Montreal's had a great pushback; they're a good team, but they ain't last year's LA Kings, so there's no excuse for Tampa to lose four straight to them. If they do -- very unlikely -- no one will remember anything except the massive blown opportunity.

Bolded are all the red herrings you threw.

No red herrings.
It was 11 posts going into game 5. Added another 4. 11+4=15

Habs have severely outplayed Lightning in most periods. At least 2/3's.

They are the same team that swept the Lightning in last years playoff's.

Not sure what red herrings you're talking about.

Yea, but I don't think Washington's would be as great because I think they're lucky to even be playing in a Game 7 considering how poorly they play to start every game. Holtby has is the biggest reason they're still playing.

The only big difference between then and now is that Tampa was missing Bishop in 2014. As Montreal saw for themselves in last year's ECF, a starting goalie makes a big difference.

As to those 15 goalposts... yeah... talk about a game of frikkin inches.

Yeah, and Stralman, Garrison and Coburn are the difference between getting swept last year and almost sweeping this year? Please. Take out Bishop and Tampa goes nowhere, as they did last season, just like Habs go nowhere without Price. Rosters shift every year for every team. But no position is close to as important as the starting goalie.

Last year L.A came back from 0-3 and so did Philly in 2010. /it could happen again with Montreal Tampa , but it's unlikely.
Right now I'm just hoping we take it to a game 7.

It's a little early to be discussing Tampa. Choke talk should be delayed until tomorrow if (big if) MTL wins.

I say the team seeded lower is the underdog, and that is the Lightning.

Well you guys did sweep us during the regular season. And not just tight games either, there were a couple of blowouts there. In addition Price was in the nets for all of them, that's right he was 0-5 against you guys.

Yeah the Habs were the underdogs and the Bolts were believed to have figured us out. You guys beat us for 8 straight, every win we scrape out against you guys is almost a miracle.

Why is Choking worse than not coming back and losing a series? Because on hF, choking is definitely worse than just losing in standard fashion.

Tampa would obviously be a chokejob.

For Washington, it would just be devastating. With the Caps getting so close to the ECF year after year, it would be awful to lose this series after being 2 minutes away from finally advancing in Game 5.

No excuses, TB losing would be a huge chokejob, worst than the SJ one last year considering TB's dominance against MTL for the past 10 games going into game 4.

Europe. Somewhere.
Caps were underdogs, only 3-1 rather than 3-0, and the critical game 5 was in NY, not at home. It's a letdown but not a choke.

Up 3-0 with a game on home ice? That's a full-on choke if Tampa can't get it done.

You know what game was at home for the Caps to finish it off? Game 6. How'd that go?

Both would be choke jobs IMO. TB is the youngest playoff team left but not being able to win out of 4 would be ridiculous. Especially when they haven't lost 3 in a row all year.

Tampa would be a little bit of a choke, Caps not so much since a lot of people expected 7 games and even though they went up 3-1 every game was as close as can be.

Caps less so, but they do have a history of losing game sevens. Regardless, New York is the cup favorite. Tampa... you cannot lose a series after being up 3-0 and not be seen as choking. Hell, it's not even a choke. It's a full on epic collapse.

Edit: It's actually worse for Tampa. They have previously beaten Montreal eight times. They have to win this series or... yikes.
