Yes. This is well known stuff. Common belief is that Montreal would trade him to Nashville before that ever happens.

Also, his last few years of his contract only pay a million in salary so he won't be making relatively much.

He'll absolutely be LTIR'd over a bogus injury like Hossa and Callahan.

It's a non-issue.

Even if he's healthy they'd just spread the cap hit over three years right?

I don't think Philly made this offer sheet with him slated to play that season.

Wow. Bergevin just may have had one of the most valuable trading chips in the league on his roster without knowing.

I mean if Weber is no longer in MTLs plans going forward 3-4 years from now and considers retirement, MB might be able to ask for the moon from NSH to prevent that from happening and let them stash him on LTIR.

Also Weber has them really over a barrell. Think there is a very well compensated front office job (which will require 0 effort on his part) in the works for him as we speak to prevent him from formally retiring.
