If Don Cherry were an NHL General Manager

Interesting read, but how do you know whether a team is focusing on a particular league or it just so happens they are taking the BPA (according to their board) and it is just a coincidence?

Believe me, I love Don Cherry. If the Rangers are playing on a saturday night, I will watch Coach's Corner after. If not, I usually watch HNIC live. But are there any instances where the Leafs had the opportunity to draft an OHL player and passed which left people scratching their heads? I am referring to the thoughts AT THE TIME of the draft. Not playing monday morning QB 5-10 years later. Just off the top of my head, I wished they would have gone OHL in 2006 and 2008 in the first round and taken Bobby Sanguinetti and Michael Del Zotto, respectively.

There is an easy possible explanation here.

Ontario has a population of almost 14 Million. The entire West follows at 10 Million, and then the QMJHL after. Of course there will be more NHL'ers on cup teams in proportion to that.
