They had to reschedule the games, so this weekend only 3 games with 3 different team.

bet-at-home ICE Hockey League

Right. Until recently, only a few teams had been affected by Covid, but this week all the teams except Salzburg, Linz and Bratislava have been hit hard. The league decided to cancel/pospone all the games scheduled for today, tomorrow and Sunday. New schedule for this weekend:

Today: Salzburg vs Linz (19:15 CET, 16:15 EST)
Saturday: Bratislava vs Linz (17:30 CET, 14:30 EST)
Sunday: Salzburg vs Bratislava (16:30 CET, 13:30 EST)

Game yesterday:

Salzburg vs Linz 2-3 OT
A bit unexpected to see Salzburg in trouble. Perhaps it shows that they have a young team now and lack experience. Their first line (Raffl – Schofield – Hughes) has bounced back from their underwhelming performance last week, but the second line (NHL prospects Peterka and Schütz centered by Rauchenwald) isn't scoring despite of their speed and the other lines aren't delivering either. Backup goaltender Jesper Eliasson got his first game, but let in a soft goal against. First win after five consecutive defeats for Linz. They changed their lines for the game in a quest for secondary scoring, but two of their three goals were again scored by the first line (Lebler and Umcevic, now centered by Marco Brucker).

Game today:

Bratislava vs Linz (17:30 CET, 14:30 EST)
Will be interesting to see if Linz can finally get some more goals out of the second line (Kozek and Pelletier, now with Hytönen) and third line (Kristler and Lahoda, centered by Gaffal).

Not the biggest surprise at this point:

The games scheduled next Tuesday (Bratislava vs Villach and Bolzano vs Salzburg) will certainly be posponed as well. And I also expect several if not all of the 10 games supposed to be played next weekend to be re-scheduled.

Update: He's leaving Bratislava without playing a game for them. See post #141.

No games this week. Some teams are already on the way to recovery and expect to be able to train again next week, others (like Salzburg) have been hit by Covid only lately. Regular schedule is supposed to resume from November 10 on.

Game yesterday:

Graz vs Villach 4-2
Both teams started right back where they left off: Graz created plenty of chances and worked well defensively, Villach looked disorganized and didn't engage. It's painfully obvious that their coach is not breaking through to the team. VSV were outskated, outpassed, outworked and, in one word, outplayed and got away with a flattering scoreline. Man of the match was Michael Rasmussen with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Game yesterday:

Klagenfurt vs Dornbirn 3-4 SO
Decent return from the Covid break for Dornbirn. They had more of the game, but Klagenfurt kept it close. In the end Dornbirn had to go to the SO, but deserved to win.

Game yesterday:

Villach vs Dornbirn 6-5 SO
Not for the first time this season, Dornbirn took the first period off. Villach played decent and went ahead 3-1. But in the second period, they imploded. Kristers Gudlevskis gifted Dornbirn two goals to make it 3-3 and the visitors kept pushing will the home team looked completely rattled. Dornbirn added two more goals and hit the post twice in that period. In the last period, Villach bounced back and managed to level the score. They proceeded to win in the shootout, which probably saved coach Dan Ceman's job for now. Neither team can be happy with their performance though. Strong individual showings by several players though: Jordan Caron (first game for Villach) demonstrated great hands and got 3 assists. Martin Ulmer and Sahir Gill had 2 goals and 1 assist each. On the Dornbirn side, Devin Brosseau scored two goals.

Game yesterday:

Fehervar vs Bratislava 3-2 SO
Another game that went to SO. Bratislava started well, but missed their scoring chances and Fehervar went ahead 1-0. Bratislava equalized in the second period and in the third both teams traded goals to make it 3-3.

Game yesterday:

Klagenfurt vs Fehervar 5-0
Finally KAC managed to pull together a performance that was convincing throughout and they showed some offensive spark. The first period was their best 20 minutes of hockey in quite some time. They went ahead 2-0 and added three more players over the rest of the game. Lukas Haudum, one of the few players who showed some life offensively in the earlier games, scored two goals.

Game today:

Graz vs Bratislava (19:15 CET, 13:15 EST)
Bratislava has shown considerable improvement, but Graz has been one of the top teams in the league for some time and their firepower should be too much for Bratislava to handle.
No livestream as the game is shown on Sky (pay TV).

Game yesterday:

Graz vs Bratislava 5-4
Bratislava caught the home team on the wrong foot and went ahead 2-0 on two quick goals. But Graz bounced right back with two goals. Afterwards they controlled much of the game, but were a little too sloppy to get more than a one-goal win.

Game yesterday:

Linz vs Dornbirn 2-6
Bad game from Linz who continue their losing streak. Dornbirn played well, but the opponent didn't challenge them much. Andrew Yogan had two goals and one assist. In the end the scoreline was actually flattering for the home team. Linz is in trouble if they can't turn around soon.

Games yesterday:

Innsbruck vs Klagenfurt 1-2
The home team was a bit rusty but worked hard, yet lost 1-2 against a Klagenfurt side that only looked good in the first period. Goaltending made the difference: Innsbruck goalie Tom McCollum allowed a bad goal against while KAC goalie Sebastian Dahm stopped everything that could be stopped.
Highlights

Fehervar vs Graz 5-2
Finally a defeat for Graz. The club has a lot of offensive depth, but defensively they are not on the same level. It showed early in the season until coach Doug Mason managed to make everyone work hard enough to make up for it. Since the return from the Covid break, bad habits are showing up again. Fehervar keep going strong.
Highlights

Vienna vs Dornbirn 2-1
A very decent showing by both teams. Dornbirn seem to have found their groove and Vienna will be very happy to win 3 points in their first game after the break.
Highlights

Bratislava vs Villach 2-1 SO
Another close game, neither team can be all that happy with their performance though. At least Villach was able to stop the flood of goals against, but in the end they had another defeat on their record.

Games today:

Innsbruck vs Graz (19:15 CET = 13:15 EST)
Graz is back at full strength with all roster players available and has enough quality to crush Innsbruck. But will they return to a thorough work attitude? If not, they could find themselves outworked by Innsbruck.
Livestream (€ 6,90) here

Bratislava vs Bolzano (20:15 CET = 14:15 EST)
Bolzano has the roster to beat everyone in the league, but has been hit hard by Covid for the second time. If the are rusty, Bratislava could take avantage.

Villach are also rumoured to be close to a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers for a loan of Michael Raffl.
