One stat that stands out over the last 8 games. When Ian Cole's ice time drops Tampa's Goals against goes up pretty significantly. Since Bogosian and Cernak came back over the last 4 games 3.75. 4 games prior 2.5. Check Cole's ice time drop over the last 4 games. Sure there may be other factors but this stands out like a sore thumb.

This is the reason, not because Cole is some defensive game breaking stud.

Might be absolute trash as a person but on the ice the best thing I can say about Cole is that I can't recall very often him being at fault for back-breaking mistakes, and for a D who isn't expected to bring offense with him, that's the best quality you can have.
