Ounce Nylander is back and up to speed Nylander can take his place on the 3rd line.

That could be true but it would be one hell of a line!

If we want to go top heavy we can go

    Marleau-Matthews-Nylander
    Kadri-Tavares-Marner
    Hyman-Ennis-Kapanen
    Johnsson-Lindholm-Brown/Leivo

That's a filthy line but I don't think it makes us better as a team..

I prefer a team more spread out like say

    Marleau - Matthews - Nylander
    Hyman - Tavares - Marner
    Johnsson - Kadri - Kapanen/Brown
    Ennis - Lindholm - Kapanen/Brown

    to a team like

    Kadri - Tavares - Marner
    Marleau - Matthews - Kapanen
    Ennis - Nylander - Hyman
    Johnsson - Lindholm - Brown

My reasoning is Nylander. I think he's that good that he can replace Kadri as centre without any loss in performance so to speak. Plus it would be good for Nylander's confidence playing against 3rd line players.

keep your centers playing center - they can do more from that position and it's pretty inefficient cap spending to pay a center price for a winger position

I've thought of this but more along the lines of

    Johnsson-Matthews-Kadri
    Marleau-Tavares-Marner
    Kapanen-Nylander-Hyman

Nylander can't come close to doing what Kadri does at centre. Were you joking?

Kadri has never looked as good at wing as he has on center. Willy is versatile and can do both. It makes sense to continue the way they do now.

    I’d honestly rather go

    Hyman - Tavares - Marner
    Marleau - Matthews - Kapanen
    Johnsson- Kadri - Nylander
    Ennis - Lindholm - Brown

Feel we’d actually be able to throw out 3 first lines

    I agree with you.

But I'd like to move Kadri to Matthews line and try to create a matchup, shutdown line.

Maybe do a home and away team?
More balanced Away when you dont have last change.
Load up top 6 when you can choose last change.

Just put pp1 unit on when the faceoff is in the opponent's end and we're playing at home. Especially off of an icing.

    Or spread it out more:
    Ennis-Matthews-Nylander
    Hyman-Tavares-Marner
    Marleau-Kadri-Brown
    Johnson-Lindholm-Kapenan

    Scary balance

They’ve looked scary dominant when paired together briefly thus far. It actually seems like they get extra energy in being all paired together; I like to imagine it is a deep seeded pride from being a Knight and feeling that clique vibe.
Also, it has been ages since Kadri played wing and he has developed quite a bit since then. He probably would be an incredible winger especially since he would no longer be forced to drive the line.

Have to admit the Knights line looked good last night. Might be an interesting option to throw out late in a game if the scoring has dried up. Felt like watching an even-strength powerplay unit.
