1)Why didnt we play our usual Columbus Day day game?

2) Whats with this new division that now Columbus is part of?

NHL made the schedule wasn't any reason in particular.

The NHL realigned the conferences into 4 divisions. We are now in the Metropolitan division along with Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, jersey, rangers, Washington, Carolina and Columbus.

The playoff format is different as well.. The top three teams from each division make the playoffs then there is two wild cards in each conference.
