Hutton or Schneider?

So far, the Sabres defense looks better than it has in years. Miller looks solid. Joker was a steal. I don't need to say anything about Dahlin.

Mike Bales was brought in from Carolina which is a net positive in my opinion - goalie coaching used to be a Sabres strength, but has waned over the years. Here's hoping Bales can tune Hutton's and Ullmark's game.

The issue is - how much will Ullmark play towards the end of the year? Hutton's starts may drop off, but Jersey is likely going to have a carousel in net as well.

Schneider looked pretty good for most of the first game, and then got hurt on the second goal he gave up. With how bad MacBlack has looked in relief, I could see him getting a lot more starts for the Devils. Don't take his horrible numbers from the last two years too seriously - he was playing with a hip injury and looked very bad coming back from it. Unfortunately the team does not seem to have a solid defensive system, so his overall numbers still might not be great.
