I have thought the same thing. If Bean comes up, the Canes can keep all the RHD and have three terrific pairings.Maybe Bean, not Fox, is our best prospect after Necas.
Yeah, that was funny and confusing. I couldn't decide if Martin was genuinely asking the question or just trying to poke fun at Kuok's pronunciation but is so dry that it comes off as just a question.Good stuff. Loved the Avacado segment
Don't sleep on Aleksi Saarela. He's only put up 13 points and 7 goals in his last 15 games. If I recall, it took him some time to get rolling last season as well. Guy is pretty much a sniper who can play with a bit of an edge.

Slavin/Hamilton
de Haan/Faulk
Bean/Pesce
Or if Faulk is traded:
Slavin/Pesce
de Haan/Hamilton
Bean/TVR
They spend years telling us that A is pronounced /ˈeɪ/. Crap like this is bound to happen.Good stuff. Loved the Avacado segment
You can most certainly do it while they are on ELCs. Of course something would have to give in the long term.Does Saarela have the heart and size to play wing in the NHL? That is my question with this guy. Or is he Finnish Zach Boychuk? Maybe we'll get a chance to see.
Those pairings look fantastic, but we're missing the playoffs if we do it. Look, I get that we have depth on defense, and that we love our guys, but any team that has Brett Pesce on the third pairing is *too* deep on defense. We'd have too many holes elsewhere in the lineup (see the current iteration of the team for reference). It's simply not smart, and that's why nobody else does it.
Spending 50 percent of our internal budget so that we can bragg that "we have six top-4 defensemen" or get a few shout-outs in preseason magazines is a great way to finish 10th.

What's the plan then? Bean/Fox aren't ready for anything than third pair at the moment.I didn't say we "couldn't" do it. Of course we can. I said, we shouldn't do it, because it's not a good way to win hockey games.

We’ll be the first team to ice three forward lines and four defense pairings. You guys are right. Let's just load up on defense. Get eight top-4 guys. Play Pesce on the fourth pair. That sounds like great asset management. What will it take to get Ekblad?

Do you not recall your own argument of not spending 50% of the budget on it? That's what I responded to when mentioning the ELCs. Perhaps read your own poor argument again for that part before being an ass.You guys are right. Let's just load up on defense. Get eight top-4 guys. Play Pesce on the fourth pair.
