My guess for forward prospects on the Checkers next season:

Foegele
Smallman
Roy
Kuokkanen
Gauthier

One of Roy or Gauthier might make the Canes out of camp, but I don't think both will. I do believe, if he keeps up his current performance, you'll see Wallmark in Raleigh next season. PDG and McGinn likely battle for the same spot.

There's a chance the talk Kuokkanen into another year in London, but that's doubtful.

guys like Elynuik, Cotton, Lorentz, Stevens, and such will all likely take an over age year or stay in school. That's my two cents worth.

Maybe it's already been discussed, but I don't think Gauthier can go to the AHL next year.

Pretty sure Gauthier meets the requirement of 4 seasons of CHL and the requirement that I believe is 20 by 12/31.

As for the logjam of forwards for Charlotte, some of the crummier ones will go to Florida, whether old prospects or freshly signed. And it wouldn't be surprising to see some included in trades.

During the game tonight it was shown that he is ranked 3rd among rookies with 2.5 shots per game.

I stand corrected. I thought all guys drafted were locked into the CHL for at least 2 years.

They either have to be 20 by December 31st of that hockey season or have completed four seasons in juniors. Gauthier has an October birthday and is playing his fourth season right now.

The easiest way of looking at it is to take the year the season will begin in (2017) and subtract the birth year of the player (1997 for Gauthier). If you get 20 or over they're good to go.

Still baffles me why this is so convoluted. Just line it up with draft eligible year. Junior team has dibs on your the draft +1 year and that's it for everyone.

awwww no more grammar lessons for me XD. i really like Gauthier, Roy, and the Kuokkanen pick because he is from karpat (same as Aho) drafted in the 2nd round (same as aho) and is a sniper. There is only 2 differences that i have found. and that is he is a sniper and that aho is a playmaker. and also that Kuokkanen swapped over to the ohl/chl. From what i watched Kuokkanen was one of the best on the ice at the wjc but didn't put alot of points up so he was overlooked. The people i expect to make the canes next year

Mcginn (came in later so not counting him im counting right there at the beggining of the season)
Pdg(came in for a few games just didn't stay in the nhl)
Roy
Gauthier
but Kuokkanen goes to the ahl for one year. Roy also will probably also make the ahl squad but has the possibility to make the nhl squad to.

If there is anything that you disagree on let me know.

I didn't put any of the NCAA players cause i don't know alot about them.

I'd love it if all those guys played well enough to make the big club next year but that's a whole lot of roster spots. I'm not sure there's room.

Some positive feedback on Bean from a guy on the main board.

He's absolutely carrying this team. My normal seats are down low behind the opposition's net, but for the Regina game I was up higher in the opposite corner, which really gave a different perspective on Bean driving the play.

The Hitmen are a completely different team with him on the ice - they're advancing the play instead of desperately trying to keep it out of their own net. His anticipation continues to stand out for me - he gets in position ahead of the play, which makes it seem easy for him to make difficult plays.
