Gomez is the best player on the devils according to their fans? OUCH. Thats says a lot about the team then. Is that why they were outshot 17-1 in a period?

Yep. Never seen a team give away leads like we've seen over the last 2 years.
They're constantly out of position. And when they get the puck, they're never in good position to get it out because they're always facing towards their own goal.

Just saw the game live. The Canes were all over the net. They were in front of the net constantly. We had no puck luck and guys are lacking in confidence, save Faulk and Skinner obviously. The Devils also had blocked 30 shots with 5 or 6 minutes left in the game.
This was not as big of a story as us being shutout against San Jose when Grosenick played his first game and had 48 saves. That was an even better offensive effort by us. As bad as we are, we're one of the best bad teams. It sucks to be here in the standings, but at least the team clearly has some heart.

The Devils actually did a good job in front of their net tonight, but they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off for most of the night in their d-zone.
probably not but if he puts up 40 points i would be very happy with that from him
