Okay, is it me or did this forum get a bit of a face-lift?
Not always a good thing...

We host Ax tossing at the brewery every now and then

I kind of scoffed at the idea at first, because it’s just about the most hipster thing imaginable. But honestly, ax tossing is surprisingly fun. Basically the same appeal as darts or beer pong. You find yourself saying “hang on, give me one more shot, I got this...”

Can't believe that's been 15 years now.

Buckhead, that's pretty fancy, eh :thumbu:

It makes Southpark and Crabtree areas look like Rocky Mount. Okay that's exaggerating but you get the idea.

Too bad the traffic there sucks ass, it is Atlanta after all but still, it's awful. At least MARTA has a prescense there.

One of our program leaders on my project at my current client flies in from Toronto most weeks. I usually get excited about that because “maybe they’ll be a hockey fan”, but after 8 months there was no indication of that whatsoever, so I gave it up (she’s still a lovely person).

But then today, on our morning call, she said something along the lines of “now I know we are all stickhandling within a tight timeline here” and I was like “yes!”

Funny you should mention this because there is a gigantic ax tossing event that is going to be held at the Barclays Center on February 28th of next year.

Just waded through the entire "Nylander/Leafs not close on a contract" thread on the main trade board. There were all these arguments about what Nylander would sign for and what the team was looking for and potential offer sheets and how none of that would happen and.....well you get the picture. Typical TML trade thread.

What nobody really addressed was Toronto's salary cap situation. Personally, I don't see anyway that Nylander (or maybe Marner) is on that team at the beginning of next season. The math just doesn't work out....especially if they want a solid Top 4 defender.

Things would be a lot easier for them if Matthews was signing a contract first. If a team was planning ahead, they should offersheet Nylander a sheet that was a good contract a bit on the high side, but one TML would sign. Then next year really go after Matthews. Put TML in a situation where matching hurts and forces a loss of Marner or Nylander. Marner and Nylander aren't worth four 1sts, but Matthews is if he is the last piece on a team deep with prospects already in the system and young.
