Hey guys, I am kind of back, but probably not really. My mom didn't recover and died...
Any tips how to deal with this? I am pretty ****ed up because of this

Hey man,

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I am currently moving my mom into my sisters place and we are putting her on hospice. Please reach out if you need to rant or talk or just need a friend. I'm not really sure it's quite hit me yet but I'm sure I'll need a pal as well. I will be thinking of you and your family and wish y'all the best.

I have posted here off and on for years(a lot of lurking) but everyone here is so awesome and despite the giant meme that is Hurricanes hockey, this board is one of the most cohesive and enjoyable experiences I've been a part of online. I know everyone here is feeling for you.

Sorry for your loss, there isn't really a bonifide way to get through this. :( My advice is to do any activities/hobbies that make you happy. Just keep busy and keep on truckin'.

Sorry to hear that Breakdowns. You're not alone. Ideas: Lean on your family and friends to help each other through it. Spend more time with those you love. Do something to honor her. Go do something you enjoyed doing with her or work on a cause she cared about (make something positive out of the negative you're feeling right now). Also, hard as it might be it would probably be good to write down memories to share with family for future reference. I really have no wisdom for these situations, but that's all I can think of at the moment. May her memory be eternal.

My folks are up there now too, and it’s scary. My mom almost passed from a variety of illnesses all at once two years ago, and seeing her fear going through it changed me a bit, similar to her changing after she watched my Gramma fade years ago.

I’m sorry man, sending positive thoughts your way. I’m afraid of what’s coming myself and can’t imagine what you’ve been going through.

My life has gone through a bunch of changes the last six months that make me question a lot about where I am and how I got here, and what I want now. Trying not to drink too much or let myself get too up or down, just staying as healthy as I can until the waters settle a bit. It’s hard man.

Some crazy shit is going on in Bangladesh right now. Students are trying to help mandate traffic violations to make roads safer after 2 other students got ran over by buses racing each other. The government is having none of it and are attacking any students protesting. They are even controlling Facebook and destroying other forms of media. We can help by sharing information, so more people know what is going on.

it's crazy how many Big stories around the world are getting lost in the shuffle in North America on a daily basis because of. you know. all the things.

I didn't realize this. But now I know, so things should be alright. I'll go tell my grandma, and things will get even better.

I’m waiting to find out what I am supposed to be outraged about

That a major nation’s government is forcefully suppressing a popular protest in the run up to their election by arresting journalists, censoring social media, and beating civilians in the streets.

These are the things that used to provoke pushback from the American public prima facie, before. You know. All the things.

I do want to opine a sec on the news. Used to be, you'd go to any one of the major broadcast networks, and the nightly news was a compilation of key news stories from across the nation and the world. Now, given the rise of cable news, the vast majority of all news programming seems dedicated to sensationalized coverage of some political event or another. Sure, every now and then a plane crash, mass shooting, or rescue of children will force such coverage to 5 minutes after the top of the hour. Yet, I do pine for objective, non-agenda driven information that focuses on the facts first and opinions second.
