the sth griping is hilarious. your ticket entitles you to your seat for the entire year. if you want to shop promo tickets all of next season and gamble you're welcome to that. people throwing a hissy fit on twitter when the potential exists for the team to actually spend money next season is just plain laughable. i get that timing could have been more opportune than after a blowout loss but ffs get some perspective.

Yeah, no. I'm not buying "you need to get some perspective" on this.

Season tickets over the past 9 years haven't been worth their price. Straight up. People continue to buy them out of
a) loyalty
b) desire not to see this team relocated
c) hope that at some point in time, the economic value of this item will catch up to its price point

C has completely stopped being valid. The organization is flat-out asking people to massively overpay for un-entertaining entertainment on an appeal to A and the threat of B. And that absolutely ought to be enough to piss people off.

if you're buying tickets for any of those reasons, you're buying tickets for the wrong reason. you should go for the entertainment value. if hockey games stop being fun for you and you're looking for economic value, you should invest in stocks or cryptocurrency or something. point b is no longer relevant and as a show of appreciation, that would be the nature of the team getting more of my business. an owner that has put his own money on the line inspires me to do the same because for the first time in long time, there's a real possibility that this team is going to spend money to ice a competitive squad. it seems like all the people that pretended to be cool about promotions are now trying to reverse course and throw a delayed tantrum for not having their ass kissed enough.

Interested to see the pricing for next year. Dundon has straight up said that the entertainment value doesn't match the current ticket prices. Hence why the "Canes Pass" has existed for the past two months. That would indicate that Dundon needs to either 1) Keep prices the same and spend a bunch of money himself to increase the entertainment value (because it sure as hell isn't happening organically) or 2) lower ticket prices.

The demand loss is already occurring due to a bad product. I literally can't give tickets away. My wife refuses to go to the games now. They aren't any fun for a casual fan. Either the price needs to shift to meet the lower demand or the quality needs to improve significantly.

This team has failed to deliver sustained entertainment for almost a decade. That's the entire point. Invoicing people for the experience of watching this team **** all over itself in 2018-19, while we are still actively watching them **** all over themselves in 2017-18, is not going to resonate very well. That isn't the slightest bit difficult to understand and its probably a nearly universal experience among ticket-buying fans of the Cleveland Browns, Sacramento Kings, San Diego Padres, etc.

What does any of this have to do with ticket promotions? Nobody said one word about it, so why are you jumping to that as the motivating factor here?

They don't look changed substantially from last year...at least for my seats. Does appear the 11 game package is not available in as many locations, but I may be remembering that incorrectly.

if the team has failed to entertain you, you're entirely free to take your entertainment budget elsewhere is my point. people acting like they're married to this arrangement is nonsense. if you don't believe in the team and the vision then it's time to jump off the train. nobody would fault you for the reasons you listed. but getting all indignant about the pricing seems absurd at this point when you've lined the pockets of pk as an absentee owner and then shift to a more entitled approach once a new owner emerges that seems to have the best interest of fan experience at heart. it just seems incongruous to me. frankly, it doesn't matter how it resonates. you either want in or you want out. that's a decision only you can make.

as for the promotions, that's a lot of the reason for this. twitter is afire with that kind of rhetoric. if you need me to cite sources on that it's totally doable. just figured it wasn't required considering the sheer volume of it.

So this comes down to you getting mad about things you're reading on Twitter, then venting that at people who aren't saying even remotely the same things.

i mentioned in my initial post that this was something observed on twitter. you engaged with it, i engaged you back. this is the nature of discourse yes? did you not understand that from the outset?

You did mention Twitter, but you also led into a conversation among STH here on HFBoards with the lines the "sth griping is hilarious. your ticket entitles you to your seat for the entire year. if you want to shop promo tickets all of next season and gamble you're welcome to that", which as written in 2nd person make it look like you're addressing the room here at HFBoards, rather than some other randos on a different social media platform.

You also specifically mentioned the timing after a blowout loss, which is exactly what we were actively talking about when you made that post, and advised people with that concern to "get some perspective ffs".

I'm willing to believe that your post was disconnected from the conversation here, but it sure as hell didn't look like it.

fair enough. there wasn't any malice regarding any specific post made here. i was just raising the issue for discussion in a place that i thought was most appropriate for my point. i usually quote a specific post if i want to agree/disagree with it. if there's nothing quoted, chances are good it's just a thought that may not have originated here.

All they did was reduce the Food and Beverage credit from 10% to 7%? I think it was still 10% this year, could be wrong.

And now we are apparently allowed to go to Road games? What an up-sell.

Last year's F&B Credit was also 7% for full STMs, I think. Our 22-game credit didn't get cut so I'm assuming fulls wouldn't get cut either. As for the Road Games thing, they're marketing it as "Exclusive offers for tickets to select road games."

The main benefits difference I'm seeing is that the seat upgrade credit is only good for full members, seats can only be exchanged for "selected" dates, they're adding a "shoot for your seats" event for full STMs, and we all get a hat. Oh and whatever this 11-month auto renewal option is.

LOL that's about what I thought too. I didn't ask my account rep about it, but yeah, it definitely sounds like they'll just automatically stick that charge to you.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if the idea is you set up an auto-renewal and they spread the charges over 11 months instead of whatever it is now (6? 7?).

If that's the case, it actually does make some sense from a household budgeting standpoint.

A brief pause where the comma is. For instance I'd say it "South...North Carolina" in referencing the city (whereas there'd be no pause in speaking of the region). Alternatively if you're referring to the region you could say "Southern North Carolina" to further remove any question.

The pause was how I was tasting it by myself. I didn't prolly look particularly smart out, speaking to myself "south... northcarolina, southnorthcarolina".

-ern feels cheating, as does weaselishly not naming the place "South North Carolina".

Answer received - we're both partially right. It's an 11-month 0% interest payment plan and you agree to renew at the end of the 11-months (although you are given a 30-day opt out)
