I'll grant you that Pesce played it poorly, but he wouldn't have been in position to have to make a decision if Faulk hadn't been caught in no-man's land at the offensive blue line. There's no way Pesce is the "main reason." Faulk is the *only* reason there was a chance there at all. Pesce did nothing to help, but he didn't cause the issue.

We just had this same issue with Faulk in the Pesce spot and Faulk was the main culprit. Last time they lost.

It does feel like the season is over but on other hand we can't win every game. We are bubble team, not good enough to win every game, to bring his best every goddamn night.

We beat CBJ, Minny, Sharks, Toronto, Habs, Rangers in MSG finally, Pens away, Vegas, Bruins, Predators...

but we take the L against Arizona, Anaheim, Kings, Devils twice, Detroit twice, Ottawa at home...

I just can't over two L this season: Anaheim Ducks - Carolina Hurricanes - November 30th, 2018 and Detroit Red Wings - Carolina Hurricanes - November 10th, 2018

Seven remaining games this month:

Ottawa/ Canes
Canes/ Oilers
Canes/ Stars
Canes/ Rags
Florida/ Canes
Stars/ Canes
Canes/ Kings

Everything other than 5-1-1 is fail.

Maintaining momentum and grabbing two points in the standings is obviously the goal for every game, but the notion that the season or this run is now over is premature. We are still one point behind Pittsburgh (who plays tonight), and still 3-1-0 on this road trip (the one loss being to a team we did not need to prevent from getting two points, as they are irrelevant in the standings). If we win in Ottawa we are back on track. Every single person here would've taken 4-1-0 on this roadtrip before it started, especially if the one loss was to NJ and not Pittsburgh or Buffalo.

It primarily sucks because this was a bad opponent and you want to get wins in those games. But Tampa's better than everyone in the league and has lost 15 times this year - it happens. Bounce back and this isn't an issue. Lose to Ottawa, turn it into a streak, start to lose ground, and then we're in trouble.
