It must be a nightmare getting in and out of Clemson on a football Saturday. I've personally experienced getting in & out of Ann Arbor for Michigan games with 110,000 fans many times, and it's horrible -- but at least Ann Arbor has multiple freeways to get out. It still takes a couple of hours of tailgating after the game before you even think about trying to get out, though. Plus you need to get there a couple of hours early to avoid gridlock, too. A Michigan game becomes an all day commitment. While Clemson has smaller crowds (but still quite large), there just isn't much decent access in & out of town.

It is. I went to a game there about 10 years ago when Tommy Bowden was still the coach. Best part was trying to get into a sports bar afterwards, they were all full.

I've been in Ann Arbor for Michigan gamedays before. Their infrastructure isn't perfect by any means but it's about typical for your average college town.

With Clemson, most of the game traffic is coming up or down I-85 and getting off at the Clemson exit. Then it's another 10 minutes getting into town on a 4 lane highway. There's really no back way into town, the interstate and the highway is it.

I'm not really sure how the town police put up with it.

Imagine Ann Arbor after the Winter Classic, when 100,000 out-of-towners simultaneously tried to leave town on a 20-degree night after sundown with snow piling up in the roads and "special event" type infrastructure involved. It's amazing that nobody died in the streets, and I mean that seriously.

Yes, I know several people who went to the event and said it was a lot worse getting in/out than a normal Michigan football game, between the horrible weather, people who didn't know their way around Ann Arbor, and different parking setup than for a football game. I'm glad I only went to the OHL outdoor doubleheader at Comerica Park that was held as part of the event. It was nasty weather (sleet and ice-cold wind for two full length games, plus one overtime), but the Plymouth Whalers chartered a couple of buses for season ticket holders, so we got to relax and let someone else get us in and out of Detroit. It was a lot smaller crowd, too (says Captain Obvious).

REALLY an outdoor game in Carolina you gotta be kidding me this is a team that can't sell out an 18.000 + seat arena even when they won the Stanley Cup what makes them think they can sell out a football stadium that is 65.000 seat + for a hockey game I can see maybe Nashville but not Carolina this is a lame duck team that will most likely move within the next decade so no.

They should probably figure out a way to have every team host one and see which ones work the best.

But how they can't get Pittsburgh and Philly together in Happy Valley is just wrong.

That one makes a ton of sense.

Avs and Wings at Mile High
Wild and Stars at Cowboys or Vikings
Canes and Caps at Redskins or Panthers
Tampa and Panthers at Buccs
Devils and Rangers at Jets/Giants

This would be a lot of fun. As others have said, Carter-Finley makes the most sense logistically. I'd go.

Bank of America in Charlotte might work and could conceivably help grow the fanbase of a team named for the state but with the vast majority of its fans in Raleigh (or at least the Triangle).

I kinda like the idea of Florida/TBay maybe in Orlando.

I think we can handle no more than 4 games. Have 2 on NY day. The main, "Winter Classic" and then as part of a double header, you do the "Heritage Classic" after that somewhere in Canada.
Then a couple others.

Yet another baseless prediction of relocation that will inevitably prove to be incorrect.
