Let's do an exercise here together and try to figure out how many 1st could the Sens legitimately obtain before the draft (if they had a real owner who wouldn't mind spending real money). Let's try to go with what the rumors say along with what most of the HFBoards agree upon, and I will update the list of draft picks as well as create a mock draft.

- As per Frank Seravalli: VGK 1st + 2nd if a team retains 50% of Marc-André Fleury's salary

- Any other rumor of 1st round picks being entertained in trade talks?
- Any deal to be had with Edmonton for Kris Russell? Toronto, St.Louis and Tampa so they can clear space for free agents?

Total list of picks:

3rd overall (SJS)
5th overall (OTT)
28th overall (NYI)
29th overall (VGK)

33rd overall (OTT)*tradeable in a package for a 1st round pick
51st overall (CBJ)*tradeable in a package for a 1st round pick
58th overall (NYI)*tradeable in a package for a 1st round pick
60th overall (DAL)*tradeable in a package for a 1st round pick
*VGK 2021 2nd round pick*

MOCK Draft:

3rd overall - C Quinton Byfield
5th overall - RW Lucas Raymond
28th overall - LW JJ Petreka
29th overall - RHD Helge Grans

If you're upset by this maybe you should buy a season ticket package.

6 teams have like 1/2 the picks in the second round montreal and ottawa alone account for 7 second round picks.

The idea of trading back into first round 4 times let alone just one time is a fools errand and Sens know that.

Only rumor I heard on MAF was attached with a second round pick but ill take your word for it.

The fact that it is also reported 29 other teams also passed i think it would be not a melnyk being cheap issue tbh.

Why not rename post to be “How many picks could Sens get if fans provided league average revenue?”

This thread is going nowhere fast.

If you want to talk about the draft, there are lots of threads. We can open this up when we get a new owner.
