How Long until the Leafs make the playoffs again?

I'll say 3 years. Find some real team leaders to mentor the younger players. Hopefully we win the McDavid sweepstakes this year. Then buy up the UFA market in the off season play the crap out of them, trade them away for draft picks for 2016. Repeat again if necessary. In essence, use our money to create draft picks through free agency.

This isn't Basketball where you can draft a generational talent (like Lebron for example) and that 1 player can make a difference and everything is hunky dory again the next year.

This is a process that is going to take time. We need to be patient.

Even if we somehow win the lottery and get McDavid, he isn't going to turn us into a playoff contender. We need ALOT more pieces then just him.
