How long before team USA is on par with Canada?

Ah, sorry, I gotcha now. I was just deeply into the theme being discussed earlier. Don’t blame me too much, I was actually able to apply some of the useless University classes I took for a second there.
No worries. I now see where you got confused with my post. The "Canada is better" was a pretty vague statement by me, so my bad. I didn't mean they were superior just because of their genes or something, I just meant that even though USA has made strides, Canada still has more better players of course.

Yeah that McDavid guy, MacKinnon, Point, Scheifele all aging

Since when has Canada relied on any of those guys?

Last time they won Olympic gold not a single one of those guys were on the team.

In 2016, last time they won worlds, only Scheifele and McDavid were on the team.

So in terms of what they have done and who the leaders were, they literally never had to rely on any of them.

I could see them drawing even in the next two decades or so, even if Canada remains deeper.

All that's needed is comparable talent among the top 20 or so, and it's irrelevant how many players Canada has to leave off the team.
