How does the Selke add up

When a fowards career is being looked over, how mportant is a selke trohpy on his resume? Is it high up there as a career accomplishment or is it just a cherry on top/ complementary honour compared to other things. Obivously winning an art ross or a hart is more impressive, but if someone is putting up good numbers and wins a selke (e.g Gilmour), should they be elected to the hall,etc

i thought itd be a fun discussion about intaginbles more than numbers but stats are still valid to evaluate.

Yeah it's pretty credible for sure. Like you mentioned it isnt the Hart or Ross or anything but it is something that can push a guy over the top for the HHOF.

Gainey is in the HHOF not just for winning 4 of them, but because he was the main reason they started the award. That being said if Guy Carboneau ever gets into the HHOF it'll be because of his 3 Selkes giving him notoriety. But he isn't in there and maybe that gives you an indication right there that you need more generally

I think that it's really going to help a player like Fedorov to get inducted. He was awesome at both ends! He almost led the league in scoring while winning the Selke. That's totally impressive!
