He interviewed for 6-7 teams over the last several years. Was the runner-up choice to be Canadiens GM, was almost hired to be Pittsburgh's GM but he wanted a longer contract and Pittsburgh only wanted a stop-gap sort of GM for two seasons. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Good lord did we dodge a bullet there...

I remember Pierre saying on TV that the price to move from #3 overall to #1 overall in 2012 would be Subban.

Think about it... Subban and Galchenyuk for Yakupov.

Now, I know Pierre didn't say he would do the move, but that was his ballpark estimation. :shakehead

Like i said, im not getting into it with you because there is no substance to your posts.

Milbury is a clown because of his history in the NHL, and the garbage that comes out of his mouth on tv, Pierre on the other hand knows his **** and it has nothing to do with "reading online and memorizing" get a grip..

But the article posted in this thread about Pierre and his coaching with the Whalers has said that just about every player considered the guy a moron, tool and jerk. There's substance in this thread about why he's never gotten a GM or coaching job since the Hartford Whalers.

Lol wut? When did the poster claim to be "the authority on everything". Are you a Pierre lover as well? You seem rather hurt that not everyone shares your love.

Also who cares what some other poster is into, DBZ is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. I grew up watching that ****. Does it make you feel better to go into someone's posting history just to find stuff that you could attack?

Im sorry, i dont take people who say "lol wut" seriously. If you must know though, when calling someone a tool, its probably best to not be one yourself. Im assuming youre taking the side of the people making jokes about how he is a sexual degenerate. Which is hilarious yeah? I was simply pointing out that Pierre is cooler than someone who likes Dragon Ball Z, plays with pokemon cards, and works at McDonalds.

He'll be the next GM of the Edmonton Oilers and Mike Babcock will be the coach. It will be a very interesting dynamic.

I don't give a rat's ass whether you take me seriously. You took me seriously enough to reply to my post.

I never called anyone a tool, in any case I take it as a compliment that you think I am being one myself. At least I am not someone who has to go into someone's posting history to attack things like their hobbies and their job. Is that what you always do whenever you are unable to construct an argument about another poster's views? In any case I find it rather amusing that you think I am being a tool.

Also why would you randomly assume anything about any poster on here? I am not a fan of Pierre but I do not hate the man either, I am completely indifferent to him. I find him a bit over the top but I do not share the hate that some do for him on here.

I wasnt saying you were one i was talking about someone else. Yeah youre so self rightous and good. I nominate Intense Rage for human of the year.

In all seriousness do you see the irony in what youre saying?

Maybe he doesn't want to?

He has an amazing job already where he gets to be on tv every week, talk hockey as much as he wants, and doesn't have the pressure of having to win games.

He basically gets paid a large sum of money to do what we do on HF. I wouldn't leave that.

Hands down funniest thing I've read in a while

What a clown

People putting an awful lot of stock into a coaching stint that was 20 years ago...people change and mature.....

He has his name on the cup as an assistant coach with the early 90's Pens....

I don't know how good or bad he would be...but enought of the 1994 Hartford story already :banghead:

Teams don't want weird old man/player affairs on their team.

And he's probably doing pretty well for himself as an analyst. He is a knowledgable hockey man to be sure.

I hope he gets a GM gig to complete the triple crown. Then he could be known as one of the worst coaches, commentators, and GM's of all time.

If working for an NHL club means never having to see Pierre's face again, then yes I'm asking the same question

Or his creepy ice-level interviews where he looks to be gazing longingly into souls whilst subtly moving in for a smooch on the lips. One of these times it'll happen - I'm sure we're all fearfully expectant and semi-prepared for this fact.

seriously?

guy is a pompous pretentious pencil neck that does not demand any respect.

Would you respect him? Hell no, he'd run an organization to the ground just based on that.

I never claimed to "self rightous and good". I also don't know about being "human of the year" but thanks for the compliments.

I do consider myself better than someone who finds the need to put others down based on the job that they do.

No chance Pierre has changed 20 years later!!!

He should and could be working for an NHL team, but listening to him talk you know he won't leave his current job for just anything.

After once he called Semin an ultimate coach killer he doesn't exist for me as a competent hockey specialist. That was absolutely unprofessional.

I could see him becoming the Jets assistant coach, with the result of Byfuglien... Dustin Byfuglien demanding a trade as soon as the news got to him.

Clearly this guy is far and away the most knowledgeable hockey analyst today. He consistently offer`s descriptive and decisive evaluation`s of what is happening in the game`s and around the NHL.

At the very least, I think he should be an NHL scout, but, more ideally, he should be a GM (I know several team`s could use an upgrade...).

So why does McGuire not have such a job? Does he have too charming of a personality to waste his talent`s as a boring old executive? Obviously this did not stop Brian Burke from taking a GM position.

I demand answer`s NOW!

I DEMAND YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT AN APOSTROPHE IS! :sarcasm:

He's still a loud mouth. Apparently quite vocal that he'd be the new GM in PITT this year before Rutherford was hired.

Not smart.
