if corey perry can be had for a million base salary and less than 2 million in bonus... im inclined to throw an offer at him

im even more inclined if we have a place to move backes too

I think perry has more left in the tank then backes as far as being the wing with debrusk/krecji

He'd be interesting, but it needs to be for the right price (no overpayments like I've seen mentioned) and he would need to earn a spot in the Top 9 (never mind 2nd line RW).
I agree with this - I am intrigued by him but he starts off by earning that 3rd line RW spot before we even consider throwing him in the top 6.

What about offering the 30th overall pick - if we wanted to swing for the fences with that pick they’re not going to do better potential-wise than puljujarvi.

Sorry for me absolutely no.
Interest for Perry...I think.enough with the geriatrics.
The guy can't skate anymore
And imo we need to rejuvenate
At center and a good rwinger would be good.
All this talk of backes. Buy him.out ..get rid not him.in any way but make sure he's not back next year. That would be an insult to the bruins nation

what I like about perry… hes not 35 yet so we dont get stuck with his contract. give him a elc type guarantee... around a million... and hey, if he doesnt pan out we bury him in minors... he goes away... easy peasy

but... what if he bounces back? what if he can pop us 20 goals and provide some snarly protection for debrusk? krejci is not a speedster himself... having a slow winger isnt the worst thing ever.

perry has cup winning pedigree... and theres a chance he wants to go out in a blaze of glory... theres a chance he could find a new motivation on our team that was one healthy scorer away from a cup win last year.

ultimately we are sitting pretty... we got Bjork knocking at the door if perry falters. we got senyshyn not too far down the pipeline... we got kuhlman that can play rw or center... we got coyle that might end up on rw in a kid center makes the team... we probably got backes around

im not saying all of our plans would rest with perry… but I am saying im in favor of giving him a chance. if it works we got a huge upgrade. if it didnt work, we waive him off to wherever

would he accept a bonus contract with a minimum guarantee and no trade protection?

for me... I make that phone call and ask him how he feels about trying his luck here next year and tell him the second line job is there for the taking

Puljujarvi has requested a trade and Sweeney maybe interested and I think he would come much cheaper than a first. Maybe a Cehlarik and a late pick would get it done.:dunno:

He's coming off of a double hip surgery.

Not going to pretend that Im a doctor or that I stayed at Holiday Inn express last night but those injuries/surgery's scare me, to give up anything significant. Although Krejci has come back fine from having both of his hips repaired, it took him some time and of course Cam Neely career ended too shortly do to a bad hip.

I forgot all about Cehlarik. I would definitely offer Cehlarik and a 3rd for Poolparty.

Thought of Chelarik - but he can’t really be all that interesting to Edmonton and you know another team would offer more. They’re both at similar crossroads as prospects but Puljujarvi is a tier or three above.

I guess it would all depend on who the Oil like. You could be right, but I don't think an underachieving former top 5 pick who's coming off of a double hip surgery, that there would be a high market value for him.

Gretzky is still over there and Im sure there's a few Bruins who he would be interested in, but I don't think Sweeney going to give up more than a middle of the road prospect or anyone else would for that matter, I just don't see it. At this time anyways.

Senyshyn for Kassian and Pulujarvi.

Hell Senyshyn,JFK and Zboril for McDavid if they are dealing with the untalented Gretzky

I think Perry is a d!ckhead.
With that being said he would be a good fit.lol
First off the dude hits and adds some grit. Had some injuries of late but obviously he also needs a change of scenery.
Some may say that he's lost a step but then again they must really hate seeing Chara extended for another year.

Offer 2 mil with incentives.

Sweeny already has said Backes is staying so no doubt he has something in mind.

Spider sense....Krejci will be moved.
Too bad as he has had nothing but hot/cold players to work with over the years.

puuljujarvi is going to be traded for another failed first rounder... think someone like that jo sang whats his face in ny… or someone of that ilk...

its going to be a trade of 2 very talented guys who arent working out in their current enviroment.

it wont be for chelarik who might clear waivers if he was waived today and a 3rd.

do we have the goods to get in on that deal? honestly I wish I knew how senyshn was viwed by management befor ei had to answer... if they are sour on him he might be what gets the deal done. I like to keep him if im in charge

would Bjork be something we are willing to give up... not a first, but someone that has already won jobs with us 2 years in a row out of camp and had people pretty excited about his ability by the time he left college... I think Bjork isnt enough but hes a damn sight better than cehlarik so its a bit more possible.

or does Edmonton like our dmen?

zboril for puuljujarvi might make the most sense. I think zboril could be as low as 4th on our young left shot depth chart behind vaakanainen, grezlyck, and lauzon… im not sure he ever projects as better than a second pair guy. puuljujarvi still has the raw tools to be a top line forward if he gets his toolbox sorted out...

im personally a bit high on the opportunity to gamble here. I would like to see us get puuljuharvi… but I dont see oilers giving away a top 5 pick for total crap back. we will have to give them at least someone with a pulse

I know Perry. Always has been the ultimate competitor. I admittedly haven't watched him play that much over the past few years, as I haven't followed the Ducks in sometime. I'm surprised to hear he's slowed down so much over the past few years in his early/mid 30's. I do know and remember that he use to love playing at Garden. I think he had some pretty good (multiple goal) games against the Bruins when the Ducks were in Boston playing the Bruins.

Bruins won't break up 2011 core: 'They've got some good hockey left'

If you are one of the futurist Bruins fans looking for the Bruins to get younger after falling short during this spring’s Stanley Cup Final, then you may be disappointed by the words from B’s management this week. If you are a fan of familiar faces on the Bruins roster and the past glory of the Black and Gold, then it was a little more encouraging.

Say he does net 20 which I doubt but if he does then the bruins will keep for the playoffs I gather and really I think he would be a liability and once in the playoffs too late to experiment with others imo. I much rather go with an established rwinger with the ability and a strong bruins brass intention to continue in the playoffs from not to late into the regular season.
I personally really have no excitement at all to see Perry in a bruins uniform.

Makes sense considering they just about all had career years in 2018-19

Tried ignoring it but puljujarvi would be a reaaaaaal interesting guy in the top 6 right wing hole.

I agree. At the beginning of last month he was still 20 years old with 100+ games and 17 goals to his name. Expectations for some of these top picks are way too high right out of the gate.

I don't know what the cost is, probably higher than I'd like to believe.... but I look at Dylan Strome and think sometimes a fresh start and the right "fit" is all it takes. That said, options are limited and risk is high. You're not getting an 18 year old on an ELC...... Wouldn't be against purging some of the D or left shot wingers in the system.
