Only 10 teams in the league had fewer goals against last year than we did. Replacing JVR and Bozak with more defensively responsible players should help too. Hopefully Zaitsev can step up, he may have been playing injured last year. He was pretty good in the series against the Capitals a year ago.
We're not going to be able to add another top pairing defenseman at a reasonable price. We definitely shouldn't take a negative value trade to switch from Gardiner to a slightly worse but RHD Gardiner. Handedness matters very little.
