More talent to play with than any other star? What are you talking about? Plenty of those draft years were some of the weakest lottery years in recent memory. Guys like RNH and Yakupov had no other real challengers for 1st overall not really sure what we could have done differently there.

The fact is Mcdavid has only played 3 NHL seasons and made the playoffs in one of them. Unless you have a crystal ball that has seen into the future of his 4th season and beyond, please share this knowledge.

The Oilers are unpredictable right now because of all their young players that had a down year minus Mcdavid. Combined with historic lows in special teams that are unlikely to be repeated again. You should open a psychic network.
