Hi! i'm from the montreal board. Just a question here. I'm not too familiar with labour talk, so i'm asking myself if the nhl direction can force the nhlpa to ask to the players if they accept their cba proposal in a secret vote? If not when will the nhlpa will be in order to ask to all players. Is something like this is possible or Goodenough decide for all with the reps from all teams? So he reject the cap and this is it for the season?

    Thanks

    I would love that

I would love that. If the nhlpa had a secret vote, the players would be on ice pretty soon. But Goodenow will not ask for that and the NHL can't force the players to vote :(

Goodenow would be stupid to ask for a vote of the PA without knowing the outcome. In a secret ballot, players would be more likely to air their true opinions. It could really undermine the players position that they do not want a salary cap.
