The idea is a good idea in theory, the real trick would be if the Mods would want to oversee another platform as Mods.
Plus you'd have to find a developer that could develop it for both Apple and Android phones as most poster use those type of phones now a days.

The other side would be you'd have to be able to design all the basic feature of the site into an app with a similar but more refined layout to the current website layout that posters are comfortable using. Especially for the Canadian Hockey League forums of the site it would be a very good tool to use.

I know there would be a lot of CHL and more specifically OHL sub-forum posters who would jump at the idea of an app for HFB myself included. If you could get the Mods to back your idea then do a similar tactic to what the CHL did to the (OHL, QMJHL, and WHL) apps where you stagger out users abilities to use the site via there smartphones then I'd approach the Mods first and see if they would back your idea first.

I would PM the Mods and see what they say about it cause ultimately it's the them who are in charge of the site they would have to agree to it to allow it more than anyone else in fourm.

So I'm old and going to ask a dumb question here - What would an OHL app give me that I can't get logging into HF Board on my phone? What is the need for an App when I'm getting there in about 5 seconds?
