Congrats to Michael Houser on his 1st NHL win, dude played well. Ullmark, Hutton, and UPL are all injured, I’ve never seen a team have to go so far down the goalie depth chart- and the ECHL call-up plays rock solid and wins his first game against the Isles, 4-2. Is he the next Binnington? No, but it’s cool nonetheless.

If you answered your own question, was the thread needed?

Congrats to him on a great debut though.

It’s half to give him props, half to point out the Sabres resiliency- seriously, they’re on their 4th/5th string goalies without their captain/best player, and instead of giving up they continue battling.

Besides, isn’t it normal for guys to get a thread for their 1st win? Dude is an NHLer now!

It’s not every day you get to see a guys career highlight...or that that guy works that long to have one shot to get it. It took four injuries on a team that will finish last...but today all the work he’s put in since he was a kid was worth it.

Yeah, Isles sucked tonight but that doesn't take away from Houser. He was poised and really stayed in the moment. It looked like the game was going to go south but he was a steady presence and looked confident for a guy in his 1st career game. Kept them in it long enough for them to find their legs.

He was more mentally prepared than anyone on the Islanders.

Sounds like he’ll get a chance for another win tonight as he gets the start in the back to back games.

I love seeing this stuff after hearing these whiny vets complaining they need all these games to get back into game shape as an excuse for their garbage play.

Would be an amazing story if he ends up being the saviour of the Sabres or even better yet becomes the best goalie of all-time.
