Good for/congratulations to Housley.

Any reason to think the team has an interest in Walker? The mention surprises me.

Walker coached 5 years for the Guelph Storm and is acting as player development adviser for Vancouver.

Best of luck to Phil, had a good run with us. Was he in charge of the PP though?
I think so, but Sabres fans have made it clear that they had the league's best power play and the assistant in charge of that is coming back. So, take of it what you want.

As I said in another thread, the problem is not that he was bad at the power play or 3-on-3.

The problem is that despite the clear need to make adjustments or completely change things up, he never did. I don't think he'll do well, but I hope he does. Always liked him.

I have mixed feelings... he apparently was responsible for Ellis and Ekholm reaching their potential, but our PP was crap and if he was in charge of OT then good riddance lets give someone else a shot

It seemed like he was a very good coach. The PP was not very good, but our defense was top notch every year. Good luck Phil. We loved having you here in Nashville.

Our defense was great.

Our PP was very poor.

Mixed bag, but I think he was a good coach. Good luck in Buffalo!

If Housley was so bad coaching the PP and OT then wouldn't leaving him in charge of it have been a failure to make changes as needed by...you know...his boss?

2016/2017 PP - 16th - 18.9%
2015/2016 PP - 10th - 19.7%
2014/2015 PP - 25th - 16.2%
2013/2014 PP - 12th - 19.3%

Our PP wasn't horrible while he was here. The Sabres PP last year was #1 at 24.5%.

Good luck to him!

Congrats to him and best wishes, except two times a year! Hand the PP off to someone else though, sounds like there already is a good PP coach there.
