Once again, Osuna's lawyer manages to delay the proceedings.

Guy was arrested in May and here we are, four months later, with yet another adjournment by his lawyer who says he's been negotiating with prosecutors.

For four months.

What a waste of time. :banghead:

Hey, at least he's getting his money's worth, right? Four months of lawyering must feel pretty good in the ol' wallet.

Another update, and ANOTHER DELAY. :biglaugh:

Osuna's lawyer just milking this for as long as he can. Rescheduled (yet again) for next week, just in time for the Astros to play a series here in Toronto.

Might be a frosty reception for Osuna.....if he's allowed to play.

This is how the law works lol. The defense is negotiating with the prosecution on terms of a deal. A deal is in everyone's best interest. This isn't Hollywood where defense lawyers get adjournments for no reason, a judge has to see a reason to grant one.

I know that's what he's trying to negotiate, but at some point you'd have to think there's a deadline, no? He's delayed the proceedings like 6-7 times now, every time saying he's "working on a deal".

Is this going to carry into next year?

So the charge was withdraw because the victim was the mother of Osuna's child and she refused to come to Canada to testify (she wants to resume sharing parenting duties with Osuna). Given that the victim returned to Mexico shortly after the incident, the Jays definitely would have known that she didn't want to testify but still traded well.

C'est la vie. Can't do much about it now but you can be sure no one will be talking about Osuna's legal history this time next year.

I wonder if osuna still wants all the facts to come out like he claimed a month ago. I'm sure he will tell us now that he's out of trouble, right?
