Royals prospect Brady Singer surprises parents by paying off their debt for Christmas

Royals prospect Brady Singer made a Christmas memory his family will remember for the rest of their lives.

In June, the Royals selected Singer with the 18th overall pick and he received a $4.25 million signing bonus. Six months later, Singer used a chunk of that money on an amazing Christmas gift for his parents: He paid off their house and wiped out all of their debt.

Singer on Tuesday shared a video of his parents receiving the gift. He wrote a letter to them, which his mother, Jacquelyn, read as his father, Brett, listened.

I love these types of stories.

Tulo is absolutely cooked. Done. He's garbage.

But it's zero risk for the Yanks to sign him just in case he has anything in the tank.

Has the potential to be a great move for NY. If he sucks, release him, he's making 600K. If he has anything left, they're getting a guy who can play both left side infield positions, and will be able to use the pathetic RF to pop some HRs for peanuts.

Very bizarre from players POV, again assuming Machado goes to NY.

“Of the pricey veterans the Red Sox reportedly considered trading last month, they “pushed” center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. harder than anyone else, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic hears (subscription required). However, the Red Sox couldn’t find a deal to their liking for JBJ, Rosenthal notes. The Diamondbacks were the only team publicly connected to Bradley around that time, though there were conflicting reportsabout whether they were truly interested in him. As of now, it seems the soon-to-be 29-year-old Bradley will once again man center in Boston in 2019, his second-last second of arbitration eligibility. Bradley will make a projected$7.9MM during the upcoming season.“

Man I really hope DD lands Ottavino, otherwise the bullpen is looking like a huge weakness with Britton and Robertson now off the board.

Kimbrel is demanding too much and teams are waiting him out. Pretty similar to JDM last off-season when initial reports had him asking for a lot of money or years, then by late February he caves and signs in Boston for less years.

Bullpen was their weakness heading into the playoffs and it worked out just fine. The absolute worst thing you can do is overpay for a reliever given you can make just about anyone a reliever. Being a career RP means you simply weren't good enough to be an SP, for one reason or another. It's why I laughed every time Tony Mazz whined about their bullpen and how they didn't match up to the one the Yankees had amassed. How did all those great relievers contribute to the Yankees postseason this year? lol
