HOH's next list - All players, by position, or European (Voting closed)

Since the votes last time were close, this is the best way to determine our next project.

Please rank the following options 1-3.

-Top 100 players
-Top 50 Europeans
-Top 50 players by position (to be determined later)

A first place vote will receive 2 points, a second place will receive 1 point. The winner is the option that received the most points. For your vote to count, you must rank all three options. If we reach anything close to a consensus, the vote count here will be final and we'll move on to preliminary discussion of the project.

I will vote in the next post, and of course my vote counts the same as anyone else's.

Note: After we determine the nature of the project, we will then have a discussion on rules, including which players / which time frame are eligible.

I see the By-Position option as the same thing as doing a top 100, but with a chance to do it with more detailed analysis.

Top players by position = 32
Top 100 Players = 20
Top 50 European Players = 8

Edit: Thanks plusandminus. I added them up before really fast, but have no idea how I managed to miss so many. Just checked and you're right.

(I think it's actually rather 32, 20, 8. Total 60=20 voters. #2 to #21=20)

Looks like it's going to be by position unless quite a few more people submit votes and we haven't had any new vote in about 30 hours. I had a feeling it would turn out this way from the comments in previous threads.

Question: Do we have to decide whether we are splitting up forwards now, or do I just do a ranking of whether people want to do goalies, defenseme, or forwards next and decide how we are doing forwards only if they win?

If all goes well, we will do a different position every year for the next few years, before going back to finally re-do the top 100 list.
