Since when has Kadri outplayed Hodgson?

Im curious to find out.

going on two years now of kadri outplaying hodgson, actually. while being near a year younger, no less.

Kadri's been almost twice as productive as Hodgson in the AHL this year so far (1.00ppg to 0.57ppg). Not sure why people just try to ignore that massive difference.

I've wondered that since day one.

"Ya we're taking Kadri, is that who you wanted?"

"Ya (What an idiot, I'm taking Cowen)"

No way of knowing, but yeah, if little Nazem wants to play men's hockey he is going to have to starting hittin that gym and stop lying to reporters that he's almost 190.

or maybe kadri should go on a power diet to get down to Karlsson's size.

Centremen occupy four corners traditionally.

Defencemen (especially PP-specialists) occupy one maybe two in scramble situations.

Alright. Completely disregard that Hodgson only play 13 games last season in the OHL.

yeah, how on earth is kadri ever gonna make the NHL when he's only 6'0"/180lbs at age 19? no chance. there's no centres in hockey that tiny.

they were both healthy come playoff time.

one of them put up 27pts in 12 playoff games, the other put up 10pts in 11 playoff games.

A Leafs fan here but you can't really use those stats...one guy was in tip top game shape...other was hurt most of the year...ever see when even an NHL player just misses training camp it slows him down for a lot of the year

No sense in arguing tho..If we Put a Kadri vs Benjamin Casavant (last forward taken in the 2009 draft) non-leafs fans would still be picking the other guy...
PS the forum really needs a "Haters gonna Hate" smiley

by all means. Also show me a list of top10 leaf draft picks that panned out as well.

You do realize the Leafs have had some very good teams in the past 20 years? They haven't actually had many top 10 draft picks. Aside from Schenn and Kadri, the last top ten pick they've had was Antropov in 1998. Before Antropov, you have to look back to 1992 to find a top ten pick. Both of these picks are irrelevant because the whole organization has had a change in personel since 1998.

Kadri never gets enough credit for his playoff performance last year. I'm going to say this right now: In no way, shape, or form do I think Kadri is better than Seguin or Hall. That being said, he was more impressive than both of them in last season's OHL playoffs. That's pretty impressive considering that Hall and Seguin were the best two players to come from the OHL last season.

I know it's a little late but my last post disappeared so @ ericcartman at the draft Murray told Burke he wanted kadri and Burke said that that's who he liked and was going to take him. Murray isn't some kid playing a trick he wanted to know if Burke was going to take him and Burke was. After that he didn't run back to the senators table celebrating because he fooled old burkie he was disappointed because he had to take his second choice.

Wow, great insight bud. "Little Nazem"? He is above 180 and at only 19 or 20 years old, that's not too bad.

How can anyone with a brain say Kadri was a ghost in the NHL.

In his 1st game of the season, he should have had two assists if Luongo didnt rob Kulemin from close, and if Bozak could have put a puck above a goalie shin pads.

His last 3 - 4 games were useless because hed been moved from line to line, was healthy scratched and moved from center to wing.

Was Kadri good in the NHL? I dont think anyone can say he was. But 6 points in 17 games as a 20 year old rookie on a weak offensive team is very respectable.
If Hodgson didnt injure his back, he'd be in the NHL. See what I did there?

2nd overall 30-40 point player. truth hurts? BUST

He is still a kid. Jesus, people really have been spoiled by the likes of Ovy, Crosby and Stamkos. I bet you were calling Stamkos a bust after his first half season? With the mold that JVR is, of the type of game he plays its no surprise he didn't light the league on fire. But hes actually right on par with what he is suppose to be at progression wise. Not every kid can come in at a PPG and dominate right away.

Then Seguin shouldn't have been pushed as the next big thing. All you will read on this board is how awful the Kessel trade is for the Leafs, so when Seguin fails to impress, the backlash from Leafs fans shouldn't surprising.

Cody Hodgson will turn out to be a Mike Peca kind of player, I've said this for two years. He's just not a good enough skater to be a great center in the NHL. As for Kadri, he has way more upside at this point in his career because he can skate.

All I know is I would be crapping all over Kadri if he was only scoring at a 40-odd point pace in the AHL this year.

Hell, the PPG pace he's scoring at right now is the bare minimum I said I'd be ok with from him coming into this AHL season. I'm actually dissappointed that he's only at a PPG, though I give him some slack because this is the first half of his rookie pro year, and because he's so far ahead of any of his teammates in terms of PPG.

But if he was barely over half a point per game like Hodgson is, I'd be very close to calling him a bust - and if he was doing that NEXT year, like Hodgson is now, I'd be definitely calling him a bust.
