Well in terms of smooth skating Coffee was the best.

In terms of skating at top speed guys like Hull and Yvan Cournoyer and Rocket were the best.

In terms of controling the puck like nobody else at top speed its a tie between Guy Lafleur and Pavel Bure.

But his name is Coffey.... not coffee... one is a beverage the other is a hockey player.

All the top players were great skaters but I'll take Guy 1977. Coffee was fast and ultra smooth but couldnt circle on a dime like # 10.

He won the fastest skater contest at the all-star game a couple of years ago and he's just as fast these days, but it's harder to show full acceleration when the coach gives one blueline responsibility!

No offence, but Bob Bourne? He was hardly in the class of Lafleur, Coffey, Anderson and or several others at that time. Bourne certainly wasn't slow but he wasn't the smoothest guy out there.

You are partially correct. Bob Bourne doesn't come close to the talent and ability of the great players you have mentioned. But the poll is based on the greatest skater and yes, Bob was as good or better a skater as these.
