Hockey Players Taking Political/Social Stands

recently, american sports like basketball and football have players from those sports making a political/social statement on the recent issue of unarmed african americans getting killed by trigger happy policemen...

a cleveland brown player wore a shirt protesting about a 12 year old kid was killed by the police whom thought he had a real gun which turned out to be a toy gun..

lebron james made a political/social statement of wearing a shirt with the quote "i can't breathe" where an unarmed black man died by an illegal choke hold over some illegal cigarettes....

i'm trying to find out if there were any nhlers making a political/social statement on an issue...
