They don't seem to read any of their feedback. I've written emails about mistakes on their site a couple of times. Wrote two mentioning Igor Ulanov being listed as a righty!

Igor Ulanov Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com

Simple things to fix, but they won't. It's a website people look up historical players on. I think a stick side is relevant information and should be correct. Everyone remembers Ulanov (for instance) now and knows he's actually a lefty, but what about in 20+ years?

I use hockeydb for looking things up quickly, it has a more clean-cut, simple interface.

If I'm looking into more detail on a player, then I use Eliteprospects. They track more leagues and also smaller tidbits of information (where they were drafted in Junior, transaction history going all the way to Bantam, etc.)

I wrote another email about fixing Frantisek Kucera's stick side. Frantisek Kucera Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com

Fat chance that will ever happen. I hate those tiny fact errors.

You're knocking on the wrong door.
NHL.com lists Kucera as a right shot: Frantisek Kucera Stats and News

NHL.com is the source of information for HockeyDB and all others (including me). As soon as it's fixed there it'll eventually propagate. So write there, or tweet to Stuart McCommish.

As soon as i failed to fool my name in there i bailed in those mofos.
Either that or their popup ads pissed me off as well.

Eliteprospects is much better nowadays though, although borderline NHL.com in terms of lagging on the phone.

HockeyDB has been always my favourite. Helped me so much with rather obscure players from history. Gave me many good leads. Recently I faced the same problems as some others with the Bot thing. I´m quite quick in my navigation and I needed to find water posts and busses from pictures. Especially hated the ones with traffic lights :).

Eliteprospects could atleast give sources where they get their historical data. Recently I found that even I have made research for eliteprospects. Have helped a guy who tracks goalies who have been backups in NHL games. Now that information seems to appear in eliteprospects. For example Claude Dufour being Canadiens backup. Claude Dufour at eliteprospects.com

I think it would be good manner to mention somewhere their sources.

Eliteprospects is amazing in current European hockey. And even with the smaller hockey countries around the world. Credit where it belongs. Don´t know why they don´t stick with that because in that they really do provide good service.

I once wrote to EliteProspects about a random midget kid from quebec who had gone to play at an obscure high school and suddenly he had two different profiles on their site after switching leagues. I provided a link to prove it was the same kid and they merged the pages within days. They're pretty efficient.

I like HockeyDB too, but like others, they think I'm a bot and it's fricking annoying.

That would be nice but it would be kind of strange seeing a website such as Eliteprospects give credit to another website for information.

Eliteprospects used to be the king. But now they have a bunch of pop up nonsense and, even though they've made some improvements to their stat-keeping, they still haven't improved the goalie stats. I mean why wouldn't they have a win-loss record column for goalies? That's crazy.

Too many bells and whistles, not enough common sense.

Never had thought about it before but I realize that HockeyDB is the only website I've used continuously basically since I first got on the internet over 20 years ago. Love it. It was amazing in the 90s to actually be able to look up the stats of every player who ever played pro hockey.

The recent ad-spree and auto-play + overlay videos (especially the videos) has been frutrating

I use hockeydb for quick look up info, but if I want to go a little more in depth, I find eliteprospects best for complete stats (especially for European minors) and ProSports best for transactions (I love that site - it's unfortunate that hockeydb does not put much effort into their transactions, but I get it).

That said, hockeydb is probably my most often used hockey stat site.

Why do people always feel like they need to use pop-up blockers and ad blockers? Can't they realize sites have to make money to survive and fund what they do?

I must be the only one who uses hockey-reference as much as HockeyDB. They're good for different things.

H-R is very clickable and great for situations where you need to drill down into a player's teammates and different seasons, flipping through pages quickly. It also has fantastic tools for running your own reports, which has been the source of SO much information for me over the years.

HockeyDB is far superior when you need to see minor league information. It's also quite a lot better with historic players, especially non-NHL history.

If you could merge the two, it would be a hell of an archive. But I do agree with the comment above that we tend to do better when there are multiple players on the scene.

I've always been of the "content over form" mindset for hockeygoalies.org, which is probably because I grew up in the same internet era as Ralph.

I use both sites, although hockeydb is the first place I'll go when I want to confirm that I have a detail right.
