There is no way Chris Bourque wins the Hobey. He's not the best player in the nation this year. This looks like a year where there will be no clear cut favourite to win it. There a number of solid players.

Heres a question, whos the best ever Hobey Baker award winner?

My vote would be Paul Kariya. He was a great player for almost 10 years and has a chance to be a good player in Colorado.

Neal Broten
George McPhee
Mark Fusco
Tom Kurvers
Bill Watson
Scott Fusco
Tony Hrkac
Robb Stauber (G)
Lane MacDonald
Kip Miller
David Emma
Scott Pellerin
Paul Kariya
Chris Marinucci
Brian Holzinger
Brian Bonin
Brendan Morrison
Chris Drury
Jason Krog
Mike Mottau
Ryan Miller (G)
Jordan Leopold
Peter Sejna

Junior Lessard

I agree with Kariya. Morrison, Drury and Broten are the only substantial competition but come short to Kariya. Miller or Leopold could one day do some great things but Kariya is the best of the bunch and still has somewhere between 5-10 years to play.

It all depends what you are classify as "the best ever". Are you talking best ever college player that won the Hobey, or best ever pro player after winning the Hobey. Two totally different things. There are a number of Hobey winners that were great college players but did nothing at the pro level.

None of you guys are giving Brian Holzinger any credit for his stellar NHL career. ;)
