Arthur Kaliyev won the #13 poll. Who do you think Minnesota should take #14 overall?

The idea here is to create a Minnesota Wild big board for the draft.

Vote for who you think it is and then give recommendations on who to add for next poll.

1. Jack Hughes (95%)
2. Kaapo Kakko (93%)
3. Dylan Cozens (36%)
4. Kirby Dach (37.5%)
5. Alex Turcotte (68%)
6. Vasily Podkolzin (43.5%)
7. Bowen Byram (54.5%)
8. Trevor Zegras (78.3%)
9. Peyton Krebs (52.2%)
10. Cole Caufield (44.4%)
11. Alex Newhook (63.2%)
12. Matthew Boldy (36.8%)
13. Arthur Kaliyev (50.0%)
14.

I’d probably take a flyer on Knight at this point

Voted forward, but a Dman is probably the BPA. Don't know what to think about Knight. Hoping Robson and KK are long term solutions at G. Tomasino should be considered too.

Yeah, but had Newhook and Caufield going ahead of him if they were available to the Wild.

Remember, this was supposed to be who would the Wild draft if they had those options.
So far Caufield looks like the runaway of those three... If only there was a poster on HFWild that was clamoring for him since September 2018 :sarcasm:

I do think (hope) that Boldy will kick it into gear here soon.

You're not watching your team play if you actually believe any of that

It's cliche but I'll wait until he can do it in the NHL to crown him the runaway winner. The NCAA is not going to physically test him like the NHL. Plenty of small players can't make it in the NHL. The ones that do typically come with great skating, which was the biggest criticism of his game before the draft. He could beef up and/or vastly improve his skating. Or he may end up too big a liability whenever he's not shooting to stick in the league.

Caufield will either be a boom or a bust in the NHL, I don't see there being any middle ground for him. With Boldy sitting there MN made the correct pick (imo).

don't let that stop you from commenting on how he's been playing though.

Why would watch the games of a team that I dislike? Doesn't seem like a good use of time. I highly doubt you've seen much of them either.

I'm questioning "PP specialist" when he's playing at a point-per-game at even strength, even if he doesn't look good to you.

Brad Hunt as 8 points and 75% of them are on the PP. Caufield has 11 points and 27% of them are on the PP. See the difference?

5 goals, 3 assists in 8 games at even strength. He's the kind of player that is only going to matter in the goal column. How he "looks" is going to be mostly irrelevant.

I'm simply baffled that you're claiming to watch so much of a team that you despise.

BC game was because of the Wild players. Duluth games were more because of the Cates boys. Penn St. was because the 1st game was on thursday with nothing else on(and they were taking Wisco apart) Friday game was becauae it was on before the Gopher game. I tend to watch a lot of Cloud games too if that's ok with you?

I stand corrected. Your unbiased opinion of Caufield shall be hereon respected.

Hopefully Boldy can start specializing on the PP just a little bit.

I never said it was unbiased, but it isn't uneducated either.
